combuco dream beach
Has anyone heard of the new development "dream beach apartments" that are being built on Combuco beach. As we are looking into perhaps purchasing one of these, and will be coming out in the next two months or so to have a look.
Is the area nice, things to do, is the development definately genuine and is the planned new golf course being built near to Combuco.
Many thanks and any advice/help would be much appreciated.

RE: combuco dream beach
If you want any information about what is happening in Cumbuco just sent an email to email@example.com. He lives there now for 4 years and knows what's going on. He also knows about the Vila Gale project with the golfcourse. Prices in Cumbuco really went up last two years but there will be some projects to be build. One project is on www.cumbuco-beach.com. But for further information you have to ask Robert.
RE: RE: combuco dream beach
Many thanks for your reply jacques. We checked the website you recommended and it was most helpful. We will be contacting your friend to find out more about Combuco and the local area very soon.
Once again many thanks for taking the time to answer our posting.

Travel Tips for Fortaleza
Sun block or pay the price!
Make sure that you pack sun-block and/or sun-screen. The Sun is unforgiving here and after a few hours of being in it ( I mean walking around, not sunbathing) you will be done. If you go to buy it here it is crazy expensive and you probably will not find the kind that you want. WARNING.... Do not buy sun screen from beach peddlers. Chances are it is an empty bottle they picked up and filled with lotion or something cheap. They have people at the city dump that collect and then sell these empty bottles.
With extensive beaches and dunes up to 30 meters high, the first prominant spot is Cumbuco beach, 37km from the Capital, surrounded by palm trees and lagoons, situated among dunes with an excellent tourist structure. This local offers several leisure ways, as horseback riding dune buggies, four-wheelers and ultra-lights rentals as well as the traditional raft sailing. The most famous lagoons, are of course "Lagoa do Banana" and "Lagoa de Parnamirim". I have a friend that has a beach house in Cumbuco. Sometimes, we want to get away from town, but not too far away, and we will go to Cumbuco. Somebody brings the beer, somebody bringas the "cachaca", the meat, the pacoca and we spend the weekend barbecuing and having fun. There are lost of holtels and pousadas to stay in Cumbuco. Cumbuco is one of the closest and most known beaches in the west coastline of Fortaleza.
Where to eat?
The pier there, known as Ponte dos Ingleses, is a lovely place to have a beer and watch the sunset. Rua dos Tabajaras itself is a joy to wander around, with its brightly coloured bars and restaurants , and glamorous young people out enjoying themselves
Visit Praia do Futuro
Praia do Futuro is a great beach with lots of space to get your feet wet. There are calm pools for relaxing in and there are areas with big waves for the more adventurous. So bring your surf board and come spent the morning at the beach afterwards lunch at one of the restaurants that line the beach (check out my restaurant tips). Be smart when going to the beach, your going to the beach after all! If you dress for the beach and only take what a beach bum needs with you, you should have no problems. The easiest way to get there is by taxi or if your adventurous by bus. Just get on the one that says "Praia do Futuro".
Fortaleza - Capital do Forro!
Fortaleza, the capital of the Brazilian Northeastern state of Ceara, is a sunny and fast-growing city with long stretches of beautiful beaches and not so beautiful construction and skycrapers.
It seems like the idea is to turn Fortaleza into Brazilian's Cancun with resorts being built everywhere to attract (mainly) European tourists.
Tourists are drawn to the long sandy beaches, the almost eternal sunshine, the friendliness of the people as well as the excellent nightlife.
Especially if you like dance and listen to Forro, then you must come to Fortaleza. This is the Forro capital of Brazil (and the world of course), and definitely one of the best places to party. Nightlife here is abundant and world-famous
There are some excellent beaches outside of Fortaleza, easily reached in daily or weekend excursions. One of them is the 'hippie' beach at Canoa Quebrada, which is already quite commercialized but still a beautiful place to visit.
