Ponta Mar Hotel

Highly recommended this hotel for its service, location amenities AND the super buffet-style breakfast (included). We saved about 30 reais / day by pre-booking on the net, without having to give a deposit or credit card. On longer stays, after the limit of 500 reais is reached for hotel costs, they must be paid up then. We opted to pay in advance the whole bill not to be bothered with this little nuisance.
Do NOT choose a room on the 12 th floor, as the 13 th floor is reserved for conventions, and the screeching sound of shuffling chairs early in the morning or late can become a REAL headache.

Unique Quality: Pool with bar, Gym, free beachtowels every day, ocean view ( if choosen), internet - 3 Reais for 15 min in the lobby. Great location for Bus and / or Taxis, and to participate in the many organized daily bus excursions offered by some tour operators to a variety of wonderful beach resorts. Compare prices, as some of the smaller operators like "OceanView" go to the same places as the bigger tours, but in smaller buses and for less money. All ARE air-conditioned though, and friendly service by all.

Directions: Not far from the Englishman Bridge and nightly "Fair" ( kind of a fleamarket with many vendors selling incredible artwork, paintings, clothing, shoes, jewellery and more at ridiculous low prices).
