ONE NEEDS ALMOST NOTHING BUT OPEN HEART!

Bikinis girls,bikinis!!!!!! Bring a sunblock with a high SPF,since the sun can be deceiving in Jeri due to the cool ocean breezes,you won't even know you're burning!!!! Don't forget to pack your camera and plenty of film!
Don't forget Jeri is a small village far away from any civilization,if your camera uses a rare type of film or specials batteries,bring spares,because you won't find them here!! Since Jeri doesn't have any streets lamps,a small flashlight can be helpful on those moonless nights!!

Sandboarding

Sandboarding is an adrenalin sport, similar to snowboarding. It basically consists of standing on a board and zooming down a dune with the wind beating your face. The only differences are that instead of snow, heavy suites and freezing temperatures, you enjoy gliding on the sand while wearing shorts at 30C.

In Jeri sandboarding (locally known as ski-bunda) is undertaken by residents and tourists the entire year round since sand never melts :) It's a very exciting experience practicing this original sport on Sunset Dune during sunset!! Many people do this!!

Several surf and sandboard shops rent boards, one of them is Jeri Aqua Sport on Rua do Forro.

SUNSET DUNE

It's a tradition to watch the Sunsets in this magnificient sand dune,located in the West side of the village and called " Sunset Dune ".
Everyday,after sunset,there's a group of " Capoeira " fighters practicing their art on the top of the dune (Capoeira:tipical fight/dance,brought to Brazil from Africa).

Lagoa Azul

You can only get here with an excursion, where you'll visit two different lagoons: Lagoa Azul and Lagoa Paraiso.
Make sure you go after or during the rainy season, so that the lagoons are not so empty.

Wind and Kite Surfing

Jericoacoara has developed a name for itself as a top destination for surfing and more specifically, windsurfing, in Brazil. The main beach in front of the village is very busy, especially in the morning with windsurfers of all levels taking to the water. There are a variety of surf schools where you can hire equipment and avail of lessons (beginners welcome)
Also available are kite surfing lessons. Kite surfing has really taken off in Jeri and has become nearly as popular for the adrenaline junkies lloking for something different to wind surfing.
