In Jeri prices of accomodation are generally a little higher compared to other Brazilian destinations but you can still find some pousadas (family run places) for acceptable price. There are some really colourful and cosy places with swimming pool, garden and a lot of greenery but also several simple places.
Pousada Ponta Mar Jeri is quite simple and it's rather new. They have rooms with fan or with air-conditioning and in the morning they serve breakfast. There is also a parking. The whole family is involved in tourism: dona Rosa sells freshly baked banana cake on the beach, Daniel offers one-day buggy trips to various destinations and their daughter Danila takes care for the accommodation.
I stayed there before and I knew the family so it was quite easy to arrange everything. They even gave me a little discount as kind of reward because I came again.
My greatest wish was to stay in Jeri for the New Year and this time I made my dreams a reality :) Bear in mind to book well in advance as the place gets totally packed at this time. They only offer five-day packages and the prices go up a lot.
it is located on a quiet part of Rua Sao Francisco, opposite of the famous Paderia Antonio
when you arrive in jerri, just go around the small village and compare some prices, you can find cheap accomodations everywhere
Just 100 mts away from where the truck will leave you once you arrive, 3 minutes away from the beach. It has an agreement with a guy who offers double rooms for 60 reais, so you can sleep at this guy's guesthouse and have breakfast and use the pool at Hippopotamus. Both buildings are located 100 mts away from each other.
This guy's guesthouse is right opposite where the truck will leave you, on the main road, just 3 minutes away from the beach and from the busiest area at night. The buffet breakfast is quite good: fruits, ham and cheese, scrambled eggs, cakes, etc.
As mentioned before, since 1992,the construction of new accomodations stopped, and since, the accomodations options are restricted to some lodges, fishermen houses and camping.
We took my favourite option,to stay in a native family house,it always make me feel close to the culture and knowing the local customs!
This picture shows a "Pau De Arara",a bus take makes the roads within the village!
I spent only some hour in this new pousada runned by a italian family tha 10 years ago falled in love with Jeri and leaved everithing in Italy to spend the rest of the life there.
The pousada is very well and the room are perfect, with a living room downstair and the sleepeing area at he first floor, with Ac, hot shower, fridge and well furnished.
Tehre is a little swimingpool, a turtle garden and a good dinding area where u cna take your big breakfast or ask for some italian food in the evening.
They can arrenge for u buggy trips or other turist info.
Pousadas are the most famous type of accomodation all over Brazil. These are guesthouses that can go from very cheap to OK prices.
Once you arrive in Jericoacoara, you'll be surrounded by men offering you different pousadas, most of them will show you some pictures or walk you to them, as Jeri is a very small village.
You should be paying 60 reais for a double room with breakfast and fan or air conditioning. This is, a very basic but clean place.
Actually, you can even pay less than that, maybe 40 or 50 reais for a double room, but to get one of those, you should take your luggage and walk around the village for some minutes and ask every pousada you see, mostly on the ones that are not located on the main street!
We just finished a 6 day stay in Jericoacoara and wanted to lay compliments on the Pousada Alquimia for a great affordable stay.
Although there are many places on offer in this town it was quite difficult actually getting a reply from an internet enquiry beforehand. It seems a lot of places just don´t bother.
The Pousada Alquimia charged R$45 per night for a double room with fan (and R$60 for an A/C room). Although we found a few places offering rooms for R$60 this was the only place with cheaper accommodation. There are rooms with varying bed numbers although I am not sure of the specific charges for them.
It is located on the main street (Rua Principal) about 150m or so from the main "square". It obviously is not on the beachfront but to be honest the ridiculously high charges for the "beachfront" are probably not worth it - the beach on which they look out to is not really swum on much because of the windsurfers - and in addition if you want to sit on a deck chair you can still do so if you buy a drink now and then from one of the bars.
There was a great breakfast (fruit, many breads, cake, juice, coffee, eggs, ham, cheese) every day and the owner even let us use the room until we got our bus at 10pm for no extra charge! We also got picked up and dropped off at the bus stop - not many people get that privilege.
Overall an excellent place to stay especially if you are on a budget.
This is a wonderful place to stay, with a friendly staff, spotless rooms, and a great breakfast. Among the best values anywhere in Brazil. Highly recommended.

Have a nice time in Jeri!
superb, very relaxed atmosphere. Run by a very helpful English talking Itailian. Breakfast served in the morning, fresh fruit bread meat etc. Highly recomended. Beats alot of the other pousadas in Jeri!! Its clean and smart the way he has decorated.
Trips to the lagoons can also be aranged from here as well as onward bus tickets, just ask the manager.
Ask for the room with the view. Has its own balcony with double hammock to snuggle up at night and watch the stars, with your partner, or maybe catch the sunset!! Each room has a hammock but not with the view, just a pleasant well looked after garden.
