AIRPORT TRAVEL TIME

by mike15

I will be staying in Foz do Iguacu(Brazil)but flying to Buenos Aires from Iguazu Falls(Argentina)what is the best way to get there bus or taxi? How long would it take and the cost?

Re: AIRPORT TRAVEL TIME

I think a taxi is the best way to get to the airport.
It will take about 45 minutes (incl. border crossing).
Can not tell you how much it will cost, but taxis are rather cheap in Brazil and Argentina.

Travel Tips for Foz do Iguaçu

Gavião

by Gwynethart

I believe there are several different types of Gavião, which is a type of a hawk. We were so lucky to see this one, as we were driving away from the falls. We stopped the car, and watched it walk through the grass. It was amazingly graceful, and seemed even prehistoric to me.

Tres Fronteras

by chris_i79

If you are looking for something else to do once you have seen the falls you can go to the tres fronteras where the borders of Brazil, Paraguay and Argentina meet. Each border has a marker painted in that countries colors. On the Brazilian side there is also a shop selling some souvineers at better prices then some of the large shops in town.

Iguassu Falls

by daevemanbrazil

If you want to see one of the 3 falls in the world, this is one of them (there is Niagara Falls and Victoria Falls in Africa).

If it is possible, go to both Brazilian and Argentina side of the Iguassu Falls (it is right in the border of both countries). In the brazilian side you can see the falls, but in the argentinan side you can walk OVER the falls (some of them of course).

The Jungle Safari

by chris_i79

You are able to take a boat on to the river and experience the falls close up on both sides of the falls. I feel that doing it on the Brazilian side is better. I believe it is a little more, but it includes a ride through the rainforest a hike and then a boat ride. Depending on water levels you will get very close to some of the falls and you will definately get WET!!! bring a water proof camera. I believe it was $35 USD for the tour.

The main drag

by acemj

Avenida Jorge Schimmelpfeng is the main street for restaurants and nightlife here in Foz do Iguacu. Since it was a weekend and the weather was perfect while I was here, this street was packed with mostly locals and the few tourists that were around during this the off-season. Most people were simply enjoying a meal and a drink at the many outdoor cafes. I had a chopp (a draft beer) at the place in this photo called Chopp Rafain for a whopping 1 real (about 35 cents US).
