 | Hotel Rafain Centro: Great location and service

by acemj I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Rafain. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted warmly and every effort was made to make me comfortable. The staff were very helpful in getting cabs, offering advice and being flexible when necessary. For example, when I told them that I might be a couple hours late for checkout, they said no problem. Marcus and Paolo were the two guys at the front desk who spoke English and Marcus particularly was helpful and he loved to talk about soccer.
The hotel has modern rooms with cable TV, balconies, great showers (although there was some kind of leak that made the bathroom floor slightly wet all the time), hair dryer, refrigerator, air conditioning and good, comfortable beds. There is a small exercise room, an office with fax and a computer with internet access (although the price is a bit high and the connection slow). There's also a nice pool, a bar, a full service restaurant and downstairs there is a pool and ping pong table in the game room.

 | Hotel Rafain Centro: Superbly located Hotel in Foz Do Iguacu

The Rafain Centro offers very reasonably priced accommodation in the centre of Foz Do Iguacu. It offers what you would expect from a hotel in this class (4 star), comfortable rooms, safety deposit box, swimming pool, bar and dining area etc. What seperates this hotel however, is the fact it was spotlessly clean, the rooms are large, nicely furnished and a pleasure to stay in. The service here is friendly too. I have indicated US$20-40 per person, however the price I paid does fall in the upper end of this price bracket, but is still very reasonable.
Location, unbeatable. The hotel is two blocks walk from Avenida Jorge Schimmelpfeng (along Rua Marcehal Deodoro) where local transport is available to both the Brazilian and Argentine National Parks for the falls (cataratas). Avenida Jorge Schimmelpfeng also offers Foz's best nightlife and dining options.
