animals

When you are wandering the trails of Iguacu lookout for these cute little animals. I belive they were called Cuaties (not sure on the spelling). Unfortunately because of the number of tourists around they are not afraid of you and will go through your bag in search of food if you are not careful
Rafting at the Waterfalls River
by daevemanbrazil
There is Rafting in Rio Iguacu, right under the Waterfalls. The only Rafting company is the Macuco Safari, the same company that serves the Waterfalls boat ride.
The rafting is too light, so if you are professional you will hate it. The best part is when the Instructor invites you to a swim at the river, and you can jump from the boat and enjoy the Iguacu River.
If you pay for the Rafting, you can also take the regular Boat Ride, that takes you close to the waterfalls (beneath one of them, actually).
If you pay only for the regular Boat Ride, you won't be able to jump to the river, but still can go pretty close to the waterfalls. If you plan on going either the regular Boat Ride or the Boat Ride plus Rafting, you should take a towel and swim clothes, because in both rides you will get VERY WET (like in a swimming pool). Also take some deodorant, because the lifesaving equipment really stinks (they told me they wash it everyday, but I doubt it). You can take a backpack and leave it with your belongings in the platform, but take some plastic covers to put your wallet and camera inside, if you want to take them with you in the ride. I don't belive anyone there would rob your things, but precaution is never too much right?

You can hear the sound a long way off and get wet from the spray when close.
On a hot day you would think all that water will make the air cooler but it has the opposite effect, no idea why but there must be a scientific reason.
Parque dos Aves

This is a zoological park that exhibits birds from around the world, with a main focus on South America. It is located close to the Brazilian side of the Iguazu falls, and if you have some spare time, it is well worth a visit. The park seems to be well maintained and the birds in relative liberty.
Iguacu Falls - Brazilian side Part 2

In this photo you can see one of the main waterfalls on the Argentine side. To the right you can just make out the viewing platform that you can take that goes right up against the waterfall. The noise and force of the water crashing down a few feet away is exhilarating.
