Blue Marlin Hotel: Just on the beach
My wife and me stayed in this hotel for a whole week in the end of 2007. It is located on a quiet block in front of Ponta Negra beach and has views to the large beach from balcony´s room. All rooms have sea view but the ones who are located in the front part have two balconies, both with stunning views. The rooms are quite big (35 up 45 sq/meters) with an integrated small kitchen, the king size beds are new and confortable, ar conditioner ok and breakfast on the roof, really great.
The pool is not big but enough for swimmig and the bar is inside. The friendly staff speak english, spanish and a bit german and norwegian. In the lobby there´s a small library with most books in norwegian, portuguese and english.
Also I have recommended this hotel to friends in Germany and they all tell me the standard has not changed since then.
In high saison the price can be a bit high but from march to june and oct to november, one can negotiate very nice rates.
The friendly staff do everything they can to make your stay unforgetable.

Blue Marlin Hotel: First class acommodation
We stayed last year in May and again some weeks ago in this small and modern hotel and it was fantastic. It is located just in front of the sea, the rooms are around 45 square meters, very confortable all them with a stunnig view from Ponta Negra beach.
The great view from the terrace on the roof where the breakfast is served is something unforgetable.
We recommended this hotel to some friends and they really appreciated.
The terrace on the roof.
The room´s size.
The swimming pool facing the sea.
The efficient and friendly staff. Language is not problem: All of them speak english and some can also norwegian, spanish and german.

Valencia Flats: Excellent value for money
I stayed for 1 month in this self catering apartments in Natal. Very close to the best part of Natal, Valencia Flats is like an serviced apartment, where you pay in advance the lenght of your stay (the more you stay, the less you pay). There is no concierge but the building is very secure and offers garage and off street parking. You can walk to Ponta Negra beach in about 10 minutes. Praia Shopping takes no longer than 5 minutes. The apartment iteself is simple but clean and modern. A big fridge, oven/cook, essential kitchen utensils, dining area, double bed, built-in wardrobe-a-like storage space, large platform with TV set and internet point (broadband is free). The bathroom is fully tilled and clean with shower. There is a big fan on the ceiling which provides fresh air during the warmest days. It is quite, well kept, clean, safe, cheap and independant.
Great location, everything you need without luxury.

Sehrs grand: 5 star hotel at a great price
This hotel was opened in 2006 so it is an ultra modern 5 star hotel located right on the beachfront. We were given a 4th floor side room which at first we were a little dissappointed with however upon reflection we decided that we actually prefered this to a front pool view as it was quieter we still had a wonderful sea view also we could see the whole of the resort up to the sand bank

quality hotel: ponto negra
This is a good hotel with all the facilities you expect including a good breakfast include in the rate, internet access, multi-lingual staff and a good restaurant. The room I stayed in had great views of the Ponto Negra beach, a small balcony to enjoy the view, fridge, microwave, king size bed and lots of room to kick back and relax between visits to the beach.

This is a slightly expensive apartment style hotel that offers accommodationnear the beach of Ponta Negra. Some rooms are with and some without seaview. Nice, new, clean rooms and forthcoming staff that contribute to a pleasant stay.
The service was very personal and most of the staff were helpsome, friendly and showed positive interest.

Laina's Place Hotel: Hotel with a soul!
For twelve fantastic weeks, this was my home! Situated about 200 m from the beautiful Ponta Negra beach, 400 meters from the populare bar-street, and with only 34 rooms, this is the perfect place to stay in Ponta Negra, Natal.
The hotel has been added on a few times, something that has brought a lot of charm to the place, and the atmosphere there is fantastic!
One thing that for sure makes a stay at this hotel something out of the normal, is the fact that it is occupied by a group of Norwegian students 24 weeks of the year. While I was staying there, august-november, we were 33 students there, and whenever new guests arrived, we felt it as if we had visitors, and they often became a part of our 'family'! Some were guests at a couple of our parties, and others got to watch our capoeira and samba practises and shows!
Because of the students, about half of the staff understands English, something that can be very useful! Breakfast is of course included in the prize, but when the students are there, you can also choose to eat lunch and dinner at the hotel! If this is not an option, you shouldn't be forced to starve, as there are many great restaurants in the area around the hotel.
In addition to what I have al ready mentioned, the hotel has a pretty nicely sized swimming pool, table tennis, and almost all of the rooms have a great 180 degrees view to Ponta Negra's famous sand hill!

Esmeralda: Good hotel in a good location
Esmeralda is a new hotel, which is conveniently located close to the bus connection to Natal and other useful services
The rooms are quite ok, although I have heard complaints from fellow hotel visitors that cockroaches have been seen on many occasions

Albergue da Juventude Lua Cheia: Hostel Lua Cheia
The youth hostel "Lua Cheia" also offers tours around Natal, for example a City-tour, Forte dos Reis Magos, Buggy-tour to Pipa or Genipabu beaches, ...and to Fernando de Noronha island including airfares and accomodations there...I think you should do at least one of them, because they should be funny and really beautiful!
There's also the "Taverna Pub" which belongs to the youth hostel, with life-music and opened every evening ...very nice!
A drawback of this hostel maybe is, that you do not have a pool there, ..but who will be at a pool if the beach is so near..??? ;-)
The only bad thing I can tell about this place is, that at night sometimes it could be a little bit noisy, because most of the guests of the youth hostel are young and like to party. But who likes to know people from all over the world, this is the right place for you!

O Tempo E O Vento: A Decent Pousada
Very close to Ponta Negra beach strip area (walking distance) with decent ocean vistas and accommodations.
For 50 R$ per night - or less than 20$ USD - this hotel is very nice. Although the beds weren't anything to write home about, the price and location is right and includes free breakfast every morning nice ocean views and a hammock on your room's outside deck - sweet!
They have a nice pool and and the staff was very nice as well. The rooms are the same if you get a double or a single (double is 68R$). For a single they just push the 2 beds together. I found this annoying, since you can sleep on only one anyway.. else you may end up on the floor between. But, overall a nice place.
If you're anything like me, you're only going to be sleeping there anyway.. the location is good and at this price, you can't go wrong.
Secure gated entry
Small pool w/ swim up bar
Separate Children's pool
Free cafezihno (espresso) at night

it's very close to the main street in Pipa and there are many foreigners that went back there many times...Vera keeps on the walls many pictures of all the visitors...the rooms are small, there's hot shower and ceiling fans... and good breakfast included.

Albergue da Juventude Lua Cheia: Youth hostel in Natal
The "Albergue Lua Cheia" is a very amazing place where me and my boyfriend stayed during our trip to Natal in July 2001!
We stayed at the youth hostel near of Ponta Negra beach (5 minutes walk by feet down to the beach) which is like a castle, very clean and also cheap, I would highly reccomend it to you!
Here the complete adress:

We have had a double room (quarto de casal) which was for 4 persons with one double bed and two other beds..., but we stayed there on our own. The room is nice, clean and also kind of big (but that's okay, because you have some place for your luggages), has a bathroom with shower (warm water), toilet, and the price including breakfast was 54 Reais /day...(per room)!
The actual prices are:
MEMBER R$ 24,00
NON MEMBER R$ 32,00
STUDENTS R$ 28,00
COUPLE R$ 70,00
Ponta Negra beach is (in my opinion) the best place to stay in Natal, the beaches around the city centre aren't beautiful like this one, ..Ponta Negra is clean and beautiful, very nice place to swim, ideal for families with children!
And besides of in Ponta Negra you have also plenty of nice restaurants and bars along the sidewalk (calcadao) at Av. Erivam Franca, and some very nice restaurants at Av. Eng. Roberto Freire, they have good food for cheap prices...and a good nightlife too!

El albergue Lua Cheia es muy recomendable (ver foto al lado) y uno de los mejores de Brasil. Además, os recomiendo pasar vuestros días en Ponta Negra, a 13km del centro de Natal, la capital de Río Grande do Norte.
