Hotel by the dunes.
The Porto do Mar is set out on a promontory just in frnt of the lighthouse at the end of the Parques de Dunas at Via Costiera. The hotel boasts large, clean, comfortable tourist rooms each with kingsize beds for added comfort, a balcony/terrace and large shower-room/toilet.
A large pool is surrounded by a hedge to provide shelter from the incoming breeze which provides a cooling relief to the heat of the sun. The restaurant provides a good selection of food including snacks and drinks and these can also be obtained from the poolside bar. The large Reception is well staffed and when we stayed the management had hired translators to ease the way for English tourists as English is not widely spoken, however a little effort adds enjoyment by reaching a level of communication.
A small Internet facility is available (2 x PC's) using card access purchased from the Reception, a small shop is also available for tourist bits and pieces.
Friendly, clean and reasonably comfortable hotel located away from the hustle and bustle of the busy areas, ideal for those wanting to be able to sleep at night!
