situated at 885m altitude, Gramado has a 4season climate, and it is the most visited area in the south. quite amazing actually, the population of around 5000 has to cope with nearly 2 1/2 million of visitors last year.
only 110km from Porto Alegre Gramado is a thriving Community, Immigrants from Italy, Germany, Portugal and the Lebanon make it all work. the first settlers where the Germans...in 1954, they built the roads into the area, housing and the Hortensias.. and that is what Gramado is called: Cidade da Hortensias.City of Hortensias, in blue, pink, white and even violet. and they going well with the baverian style Houses.
Brazil had to come to terms with the diversity of its people, after years, decades of trying a sort of conformity, to form a brazilian identity ...now, Brazil embraces diversity. All for the better, as my Friends tell me.After all: Deus e Brasileiro God is Brazilian
