Pousada Aconchego: Friendly and quiet
Having arrived on the island in a busy weekend with no reservations, we were not able to find a place with vacancies over the entire stay. So to sleep three, we had to change pousadas a couple times. This was our second stay. The price was the same as just about everywhere. The rooms themselves were also about the same as every other pousada. The only real difference is that it was on an even quieter street.
The staff was very helpful and spoke some of the better English that we found on the island.
Mini refrigerator, A/C, small TV and breakfast is included.
Price is ~15BR less if you pay cash versus credit.

Pousada dos Meros: Comfortable and central
We arrived late and had no booking. Finding a room at midnight for three people is not always an easy task, but there were a couple of openings. After looking at rooms and prices, the prices were all about the same but the rooms were of variable quality.
Pousada dos Meros was convenient, clean and courteous. They have a green space courtyard with lots of hammocks hanging in the shade.
They provided bed linens, towels, ets. Breakfast is included. Checkout is ~11am.

AquaRio Pousada & Hostel: Picture Perfect
Great location, sits right on the South Atlantic Ocean. Pretty large hostel. Not much extras. Just a place to lay your head at night. You can hear the surf as you fall asleep and it crashing in the morning. They will give you a boat ride to the main beach if you don't want to walk. About a 7minute walk from the main dock area in Abraao.
Suites, Dormitory, Activites. BBQ's available when there is enough people in hostel. Soda pop and fruit juices.

Pousada Bahiana: Really nice @ Hippie @ pousada
I payed 20 reals per night. At this time the iland was completely overbooked (all the hostels and pousadas were completely full). I thought the pousada was really very nice: nicely decorated, a lot of space, bathroom in the house. It's not luxury, but for me this was fantastic!! Ah.. For this price you don't have breakfast, but there is a kitchen you can use.

Eco Dive and Fitness: Great Isolated Lodge
The setting is truly something out of a fantasy. This secluded lodge rests harmoniously within the Atlantic Rainforest, sitting at the foot of the Ocean. Aside from its exotic location, the lodge itself entertains a multitude of charming surprises. The surroundings are truly beautiful as the lodge offers stunning views from private verandas
Has a swimming pool, scuba and dive tours, great views and is completely isolated. It also has a spa program during the off season between April and December.

Pousada Cauca: Ilha Grande
I stayed at this Pousada (bed and breakfast type place) while I was in Ilha Grande. Very nice and clean - good breakfast in the morning. No pool, but with the beach it's not neccesary. A little away from the hubub of the "town", but a very nice place to relax. Hummingbirds everywhere!

Pousada Golfinho: Gods 's place!
My permanence in the Ilha Grande was wonderful! They were incredible days of sun and a lot of beach. I met very interesting people. Breakfast of the Lodging is fantastic, the manager is very kind and the place is very pleasant, because it is well close to the mountain. The room possesses air conditioning, to combat the great heat of Brazil. The lodging is excellent!
The Lodging possesses an excellent breakfast, collective balcony, room with conditioned air, fan, frigobar, bathroom with shower and other things.

Aqua Viva Pousada: Worth Every Penny!
When arriving at Abraao, we walked around the village and picked the Aqua Viva Pousada at random. We were so pleased with the clean rooms, spotless bathroom and the beautiful view! The price was about 110 reais per night during off season and while it was one of the more expensive pousadas on the island, it was still inexpensive by general world travel standards.
The breakfast as this quaint oceanfront pousada was remarkable...fresh bananas, papaya and watermelon, homemade rolls and incredible coffee. The view from the upstairs balcony is charming and relaxing and the cushy round chairs are the perfect place to read a book on a rainy evening before dinner.

Hostel vs Houses
There are lots of hostels in the town of Abraao. But if you are a large group of friends, I'd recommend you to rent a house for your stay. The local people rent their houses with everything on it, at a very cheap price. What we did is that we met some other backpackers at the ferry, and we rented a house for all of us. The trip on the ferry is over an hour, so you'll have plenty of time to meet fellow roomates.

PART OF FURNITURE!!
This beautiful spider was found on the walls in the first morning at the house!
Not a pleasant idea to think, maybe,it was walking around during the night, and I don't have any idea if it was dangerous or not,we decided not to kill it,but to put it in a box and send it free near the forest ( who can kill such beautiful lady??).
But,a picture for eternity was requested by everybody!!

THE HOUSE VIEW
Another view of the beautiful bay from the balcony.
The house had extra facilities in my opinion,as the boat, full air conditioner,a jacuzzi, cable tv,wonderful kitchen open to the bay(a pleasure to cook) and more..pitty all this only for 3 and half days!

RENT A HOUSE!: WHEN THE MONEY PERMITS..
When you go with lots of friends, and your pocket permits, rent a house!
We rent one last summer for a long weekend (thursday to sunday)and we will never regret this decision.
The balcony of this beautiful house already was a place where every cent payed worth it!
In front of the beach ( CAXADACO beach-pictures of this beach will follow),we had even a small bay from where we could use a boat only for ourselves!
