Beach Sand Sculptures
by HispanicYob
One of my favorite things about Rio was walking along the avenues of Ipanema and Copacabana and coming across the sand sculptures made by various locals. It takes hard work and dedication to make these. One wonders if they just simply leave these there at nightfall or if they actually stay there and guard them? I should've asked. The artists who made these appreciate a tip if you take a picture with it.
YES, THERE ARE MONKEYS IN RIO
by RafaelTheSecond
Many people say that Rio is so exotic that you can see monekys in the streets, that is almost true; you can find them in the forest! :)
It is a very rare scene, this kind of monkey are very few and we still can find them once in a while in our most common places! They were playing right in the Christ, one of the most famous alndmarks of the town!;)

General Weather Patterns for Major regions Dec-May
by racheljapi
Amazon
Rains occur throughout the year but this season is the wettest with heavy rainfall varying throughout the region. Close to the Andes, up to 4,000 mm annually and in Manaus, under 2,000 mm. The humidity can be high and the temperature averages 26°C (79°F).
Pantanal
This is the rainy season (wettest in February), when most of the area floods, mosquitoes abound and the cattle crowd on to the few islands remaining above the water. It is very muddy and often difficult for cars to get through. It is also very hot and humid with temperatures averaging 32°C in the summer.
Iguassu Falls
In the summer season the area around the falls is hot and humid with an average temperature of 25°C, although the spray from the falls is a marvelous way to cool off. The water is higher and the natural wildlife is also more abundant.
Fernando de Noronha
January to August is the rainy season. The heaviest rains occur between March and July, sometimes reaching almost 20cm (8 inches) in 24 hours in March and April. The hottest months are January, February and March.
Bahia
Summer in Brazil is actually from December to March, although in Bahia it is almost always hot and sunny, with temperatures of up to 33°C (91°F). The humidity can sometimes be up to 60%. Although this is the dry season all along the coast, inland in the Chapada Diamantina it is wetter than during the rest of the year.
Rio de Janeiro
In these months it is hotter than in the dry season, with temperatures soaring to 40°C (104°F) and humid. Due to the often high humidity it rains more during this season. Keep in mind that any weather depends on that particular season.
A few days in the life of my travelling companion.
by dabidc
I think this segment of my trip to Rio is a commentary on the person who aided me so much and made the visit a top quality experience.
You know him as donrafa I use the name Rafael as a more friendly approach.
The tip is cultural since it involves a Carioca and the city he knows so well. This was the first day in Rio and we travelled by airconditioned bus to that busy city.
Cafezinho
by b1bob
I'm quite a sight to behold when I first get out of bed, but just a CAFEZINHO (Portuguese for "little coffee" for the benefit of my kinfolks in Roxboro) in a demi-tasse sure enough puts a spring in my step. A full cup will light the city of Raleigh, North Carolina for a year.
