I paid R$70 (US$35) / night for a single room in February 2001 (during carnaval) The Hotel Astoria Copacabana is located on a quiet street lined with trees, and strategically situated within walking distance of theaters, movies, shops and restaurants, as well as two blocks from the most famous Brazilian beach; Copacabana and only two blocks from the Metro Station. The rooms are equipped with air conditioning, cable TV, telephone, private safe-box, and mini-bar. Amidst the amenities of the hotel are swimming pool, sauna, fitness equipments, coffee shop and American Bar. Breakfast is included.
