Bed & Breakfast

Casa MangoMango is one of the few places to stay in Rio where you can relax in a magnificent colonial, tropical setting and yet be right next to the best nightlife and activities this marvellous city offers. I stayed there on carnival with my girlfriend and we had a great time. The bedrooms are always clean, the breakfast is delicious and the property ´ve got a great view.
Set in a quaint cobbled street in the old part of the city, Santa Teresa, Casa MangoMango offers easy access both to beaches, forest and city.

Unique Quality: Pool, gardens, marvelous view, quiet place, samba lessons

buying shoe

Re: buying shoe

Your best bet is probably a mall, such as Shopping Leblon, on Afranio de Melo Franco. Good shopping streets are Av. Visconde de Piraja and Rua Garcia Davila, both in Ipanema.

Do not expect these items to be inexpensive. You can probably get the same quality for less at home (if that's U.S., Oz or EU).

Re: buying shoe

for bags I've bought some good and affordable ones in artisan fairs:
- Saens Pena square on Friday and Saturday mornings (metro station Saens Pena)
- Campo de Sao Bento on Sunday morning if you are visiting the city of Niteroi, on the other side of the bay

Travel Tips for Rio de Janeiro

If you want to have a more...

If you want to have a more relaxing time on the beach, I suggest you take a trip to Barra. You want be bothered by all the people who want to sell you almost anything that's ever produced (like in the Copacabana). It's about 15 min. (25 Real) in a taxi or take one of the many mini-vans and you pay appr. 4 - 5 Real for person.

CARGO RIO

This is the area where we store the cars produced here and that we export to Europe, Africa and the Middle East, it is also the terminal we we got all the international products, it is located right beside the Rio-Niteroi Bridge.

Dende Oil

by b1bob

Dende oil is orange and is used to enhance both flavour and colour. Brazilian palm oil, available in Latin American markets. Be sure to get the Brazilian rather than the West African product, which is much heavier. Or use half the amount of the West African palm oil and substitute vegetable oil for the other half. It is best used to fry Brazilian fritters.

After Beach

by Juli_br

Its very common among caroicas to go to the beach during the sunny weekends and after go to a bar nearby to have lunch and a few beer, or as chopps. So, If u wanna try some real carioca way of life I'd strongly recommend that activity.
