My Fellow Travelers; Can anyone recommend a Helo Tour Representative that is reliable. I have searched online and there were not many comments. What I did read was that most tours take only 11 minutes. I do remember on on of my many visits that there was a Helo Company that took off from a platform near the top of "Christ the Redeemer Statue", This will be my next adventure for Feliz Ano Novo 2010, and I would appreciate your assistance. Mei amigos/amigas muito obrigado for your recommendations. We visited the helisight tour facility; which is located on the west side of the lagoon. The people were very congenial; as there was only two of us we just waited less than 30 minutes for our tour. We toured the city beaches, a few monumental sights, and Christ the Redeemer Statue. The helicopter climb for the Tijuca Forest up the landscape to the statue was incredible. I was fortunate to sit next to the pilot and I had an unobstructed view. I highly recommend this experience to everyone.

After December 23rd 2003, the old R$ 1 (steel) coins will no longer be accepted in shops and eventually only Bi-metallic R$1 coins will be accepted.
Old coins can be replaced at any banks in Brazil until March 22nd 2004. Notice: banks can replace those old coins by R$ 1 banknotes or different value coins (such as 2 coins of R$ 0,50).

You know when you go to a store in the US and you find a shoe that you like and you just put it on to see how it looks? Well, don't do this in Rio. If you find a shoe you like, ask the salesgirl to get one for you in your size, as many as you need, but don't try it out of the window, they don't like it.
The Realtors I know talk of Location as the best possible opportunity to have a house for sale. There is no doubt that the top level of Pao Acucar is a prime place to view the Rio world around about you.
Take time to sit ,sip and see the sights. The sun shines on Guanabara Bay at your feet, the inner beaches of Rio are before your eyes and the Cristo Redentor looks kindly on you as you breathe in the sights and the sounds of Rio.
If you want some action watch for a plane landing or leaving the City airport, if that is too fast for you, gaze at the water and spot a fishing boat slowly moving in the bay as it heads towards the Niteroi shore.
Hey Radek, this tip goes to you..someone who really loves Brazil, a polish fellow who went to Australia maybe looking for better weather and nice beaches, hahaha and someone very special who always dreamt about coming to Brazil, and he made it, and now Brazil belongs to his heart!;)
