Nice hostel with local flavor!
I really liked this hostel - it is in the nice area of Ipanema, in a very cute little European style street, near everything. The people were wonderful, it was very clean, and very centrally located. It costs R$40/night right now, but I am sure rates will change with the holidays/carnaval. I may start working there,so be sure to mention to the dona that you know of me - I go by Neia (Linnea is really hard for Portuguese speakers to pronounce)!
Unique Quality: Great location, about 5 blocks from the beach, walking distance to Copacabana, Leblon, etc.
