You must do the Pao de Azucar...
by MichaelJohn
You must do the Pao de Azucar (Sugar Loaf) as it affords great views and you feel like 007 in Moonraker when he fought with Jaws. Hope you are not afraid of heights. going to the World Club Champioships of football and seeing Vasco da Gama and Corinthians battle for the championship with 75,000 Brazilians screaming and singing and dancing in the stands.
Take the Santa Teresa trip...
by Yseut
Take the Santa Teresa trip with the old train. The view is absolutely beautiful.
When the train is arrived you can take a walk in the lovely streets, look at the beautiful houses. Out of time !
You alos have to go to the Corcovado (take the train, the station is adorable) and the Pan de Açul for the views.
And don't forget to get your kids to the Jardim Botanico... I guess that my best memory of Rio is walking by the beaches (Ipanema and Leblon) early in the morning when it's not too hot, and there are not too many people. The atmosphere is great, peaceful

Football Football Football
by Groentje
When you've been in Rio, you know what I mean. Everyone is completely mental when it comes to football! There were several football pitches opposite of my hotel, and I don't believe I looked out my window once that I did not see anyone playing football! Elder people play against each other, whole teams just compete, ... It was fun to just go and look at how they play.
Even at night, or when it was raining, I always saw teams playing against each other...
Don't miss the Maracaña either!
