Where to stay
Hi All
We have decided how mnay additional days to stay on but where to stay is now next decision.
We want to stay in Rio right in town, in a 4 star hotel on Friday 22nd July. We then want to hire a car and drive to Paraty. Stay there for 1 night in maybe a cottage or something and spend 2 days sightseeing there. We then have 3 nights to stay in Buones Aires. Again we would like 4 star right in town.
Our questions?
1. Where to stay in Rio, Paraty & Buones Aires, are they good and the approx price & where its near
2. Where to hire a car & how much should we be paying?
3. Recommendations for must do's and sees in Paraty and Buones Aires
Any info would be greatly appreciated!

1 - There are many good 4 stars in Rio , prefer those ones in Ipanema, Leblon or Copacabana. No idea about prices, hardly stay in 4 stars hotels.
2 - try Localiza or Hertz, they have desks at the airport. Rent is not cheap though.
3 - In Paraty go to the village of Trindade, the best beaches arouns are there...http://www.paraty.com.br/trindade

In Rio, I'd stay in the Praia Ipanema. Paraty and car hire, sorry, but I'm out of date.

Hi,
to reserve your 4**** hotel in Rio go to the site www.riodejaneiro.com.br: there you can find your hotel for the choosen date for AUD 90/200 per night. Copacabana Praia Hotel is a good 4**** well located between Ipanema and Copacabana for only AUD 89 per night.
Rent your car the day you want to leave Rio 'cause parking there is quite hard: so the best and cheap option is rent your car at the AVIS point on Avenida Princesa Isabel at the end of Copacabana (AUD 75 per day). When driving to Paraty (about 250 miles South of Rio) go slow on Mangaratiba, Angra do Reis e Porto do Frade urban area because is full of radar control and speed limit is very low. No problem to stay in Paraty 'cause now is low season and it is full of lodging option: take a look to www.paraty.com.br and you will find all what you need. When there, visit the center of the town; is very small and you can do it in just 1/2 hours walking. Do a boat trip to the island and the beaches (but now it can be too cold swimming) and don't forget to visit the waterfalls. Best beaches are on Trinidade and, for me, Cachadaço access only by boat or trip.
About Buenos Aires, i've been there 4 years ago, so i forget a lot of information. But not forget to go to la Boca (the port area) in a street called "caminito" and for nightlife go to la Recoleta.
