Ipanema Inn Hotel is located a couple of buildings off the beach, right behind the tallest hotel in Ipanema - Caesar Park.
It's directly in front of the best spot on Ipanema Beach - Posto 9 (Post 9)
Rua Maria Quiteria, the street the hotel is located on, is a cute street with bars and restaurants .
Unique Quality: Breakfast is included in the price of the room.

The rooms had just been rennovated new tile floors, freshly painted with new drapes & bedspreads, freshly painted with new drapes & bedspreads, etc. Everything was very clean and new.
The breakfast which was included was also very good.
We made reservations in advance -negotiating our price but when we got there we were able to negotiate a little further. One tip: Some Brazallian Hotels charge a hefty 10% sur charge which we did not know about. However, this hotel did not have it posted anywhere nor were we told about it when we checked in or when we booked our reservation. I found out about it when I overheard some one checking out. That person was also surprised but did not questionthe charge. After I read in my guide book that this can be a "common practice". I checked out some other Hotels to see if they had the surcharge posted in the lobby with their rates and they did. So when asked to pay this extra charge I told them no. They didn't question my answer. Depending on how long you stay it could become expensive.
Just a note: We always make it a practice to "tip" our room maid service and had been doing that everyday, along with tippng for any help we get with our luggage.

Ipanema Inn.. Its in the middle of everything. Its on the best side of the Beach. Close to clubs, restaurants, and the staff is great
$45 for a standard room, double occupancy Free breakfast... rows and rows of awesome food.
Friendly Staff. You are most likely to meet college students and other adventure travellers
Rio de Janeiro: The Ipanema Inn is not a bad deal at $55 a night as far as prices in Rio go. It's only about a half block of the beach, centrally located in Ipanema, and has a very helpful and freindly Spanish and English speaking staff. The rooms are decent with ac/tv/phone/minibar although they could use better decorations. There is also a restaurant downstairs and a couple of bars within a block. Be sure to ask for a room facing the street so that you can open your window at night and listen to all the commotion! Highly recommended for those of you on a budget.Foz do Iguacu: The Hostelling International joint is perhaps one of the best hostels I have seen in Latin America. There are large sitting rooms with cable television, a great staff, and a large kitchen. It costs about $5 a night and is great for the shoestringers.
Has anyone heard of ipanema inn in Ipanema. It has been recommended as somewhere reasonable & safe to stay in Rio & wondered if anyone else had heard of it, thanks
Reviews on tripadvisor.com are mixed. 3 reviews. One gives it a 2 out of 5 rating and the other 2 give it a 3 out of 5 rating You might take a look at them and see.
It's very well located, and looks ok from the outside. Another possibility might be the Arpoador Inn.
It's very well located, I don't think you'll have any problems related to safety.
I don't know if the quality of services provided are ok. But at least the location is great, in the middle of Ipanema, facing the beach.
Well, no, actually it doesn't face the beach: it's in a (good) side street, only about 100m from it.
