The rooms had just been rennovated new tile floors, freshly painted with new drapes & bedspreads, freshly painted with new drapes & bedspreads, etc. Everything was very clean and new.
The breakfast which was included was also very good.
We made reservations in advance -negotiating our price but when we got there we were able to negotiate a little further. One tip: Some Brazallian Hotels charge a hefty 10% sur charge which we did not know about. However, this hotel did not have it posted anywhere nor were we told about it when we checked in or when we booked our reservation. I found out about it when I overheard some one checking out. That person was also surprised but did not questionthe charge. After I read in my guide book that this can be a "common practice". I checked out some other Hotels to see if they had the surcharge posted in the lobby with their rates and they did. So when asked to pay this extra charge I told them no. They didn't question my answer. Depending on how long you stay it could become expensive.
Just a note: We always make it a practice to "tip" our room maid service and had been doing that everyday, along with tippng for any help we get with our luggage.

Å good value for the money and a good location. We paid between US$55-$60 inclusive of Breakfast and all tax. Rates are negotaible depending on season. Reservations necessary also depending on season.
