I LIVE IN A FAMOUS PLACE
by marcbrazil
I am sure that many people in the World have heard about the place where I live, this is what we get when we live in a worldwide famous address, and I am quite proud of that. Because right 3 minutes across my house I can have such a gorgeous beach, everywhere I go I can find many facilities like good restaurants, cinemas, theatres, grocery stores, good stores for clothing and all kind of bars and discos. I live in a discrict with around 80000 people, but we all get along...it is so mixed that living here you have the impression that you are living with many different social tribes, but we all seem to be very happy to live here...
If you see the waving pavement in the beach avenue you will identify easily where I live...but it is okay, let me tell you....
I LIVE IN COPACABANA! When I lived in Maranhão some months ago I came here as a visitor and I fastly fell in love, now that I do live here with my friend Rafael and his family I felt that Copacabana is really a place where everything is like home. I feel very confortable here and for living this is one of the places in the city that is is really cool to live!
COPACABANA HAS INTERESTING PEOPLE, IT HAS MANY INTERESTING SPOTS FROM EDGE TO EDGE WHICH MEANS FROM LEME TO POSTO SEIS.
As a person who live here and also as a visitor, I strongly recommend you to experience Copacabana, it is really a life time experience!

Rio. The city's so popular that you don't even have to mention the whole name. Just the word "Rio" brings wonderful images to the traveler's mind. Long, curving beaches of pale sand. Girls in skimpy bikinis. Dramatic mountains and amazing sunsets. Wait a second!!! What happened to the sun? During my visit, I didn't have much sunshine at all. The first couple days were soppy messes, but not complete washouts. This trip put my whole "pothole" theory (see my homepage) to the test, but fortunately things worked out great (as they normally do).

Copacababna,Flamengo,Botafogo,Ipanema
Leblon,Sao Conrado,Gavea,Jardim Botanico,
Lagoa and Barra Da Tijuca are the main districts in the South Zone,or,in other words:
where, probably, you'll find yourself most of your trip!!
Each neighbourhood was called by the name of its bay,as Copacabana,Flamengo,Botafogo
Ipanema and Leblon, and others as the name of its valley,as Laranjeiras and Gavea.
Rio's most famous landmarks and beaches are undoubtedly the Copacabana beach, the Sugar Loaf and the statue of Christ,in the Corcovado hill.

Well, I guess that this advice is what everybody knows and thinks about when Brazil comes to his mind and of course what every man was waiting for to see here at VT:
the brazilian women!
Yes, the brazilian women (and especially the carioca -Rio's natives- one) are just as beautiful as you guess, maybe more...that is what Brazil has to offer..and I am not talking about sex-tourism here.
It is really true that brazilian women are -from my opinion as a german women - the most beautiful of the world! Who has been to Brazil yet will agree with me I think!
Postos

Along the beaches, you'll see these buildings called postos that act as lifeguard stands as well as a public shower and bathroom. However, if you want to use these services, there is a small charge and an attendant to collect the fee.
