Great 5 star hotel, beach much cleaner than Copacabana! Rooms are immaculate with balconies and marble bathrooms. Very comfy bed! I recommend this hotel if you can get a special price. Normal rates are about US$450 per night but we got a sea view room with balcony and king bed for US$220 on www.hotelclub.com.au Would not pay full price unless i was rich. Better off at Copacabana Palace Hotel for US$550 for those kind of prices!

Two large pools, one with waterfall and the other with a swim up bar. Also one kiddie pool. Several restaurants. Excellent staff. Hotel has free shuttle bus to Copacabana Beach and Ipanema Beach about 5 times per day. Saves on taxi fares. If you are not rich, do not book an airport transfer at the Car Service desk in the lobby. It would be US$80 for up to 4 people in a sedan booked through the hotel. They discourage you from booking a taxi instead of their car service. If you take your luggage just across the street from the hotel, there are taxis just hanging out and you can negotiate them to take you to the international airport for only 55 reals (US$22) ... BIG savings!!
