Beachside Style
The Pestana Rio Atlantica is located in the Centre of Copacabana, along the beachfront. It is a nice hotel, with good facilities, and excellent breakfast buffet, nice lobby bar and is very well positioned. The hotel has 218 rooms, with 114 being luxiry suites with ocean view. Our rooms was very nice, with pleanty of room, a good shower, in-room safe and mini bar. The decor is a bit 80's, but it's still lovely. The pool is located on the roof, which offers fantastic views of the surrounding area. There is also a spa, sauna, gym and massage/ beauty services available.
The staff are very helpful, and the service in the restaurant is excellent. There also are some great restaurants downstairs within walking distance. Copacabana beach is beautiful, though the shoreline is not the best place to explore after dark.
Unique Quality: The hotel has asection on the beach in front of the hotel containing sun lounges, towels and a safeplace to store valuables. There are staff who bring you drinks and fruit snacks too. Not being acostomed to luxury, this was a huge bonus to us!!

Friendly staff, great breakfast included!
Other services/meals too expensive, venture out for those!

Verry Good 5 stars Hotel in Copacabana
Verr good location, in the principal Avenue in Copacabana.
I recommend this hotel because is verry safty and the people are verry kind with us.
Small pool.

Like a Rolling Stone
Hello all,
We (a couple in our mid 40's) are coming to Rio for the Rolling Stones concert.
We are arriving in town on 16/Feb and staying at the Excelsior hotel in Copacabana Beach. We plan on a couple of 1/2 day trips to see the sites, but will spend most of the time enjoying the beach. We love to meet other travelers to discuss past and future vacation ideas.

I too am going to Rio for the Stones concert. I am 25 and will be staying at the Pestana Rio Atlantica. Do you have any details on the concert, more than just the 18th and copacbana beach?
