Open in August 1999. Within a walking distance from the beach, cinemas, shopping malls and theaters.
From the terrace, you have a view to the beach and the ocean. There, you will also find a small pool, a sauna, fitness center, and a bar. They make very good caipirinia there.
The personnel is very friendly but not very quick but perhaps that is normal for Rio :)
There are no baloconies and there are no rooms facing the ocean. You can choose between the back yard and the street.
Unique Quality: Safe in the room.
Directions: downtown: 10 minutes
domestic airport: 10 minutes
international airport: 20 minutes.
Copacabana: 10 minutes walk.
If you're looking for luxury, you won't find it here, but everything seems clean and taken care of. If you're looking for a room in a great location with good food and drink, helpful employees, complimentary breakfast, a nice pool on the roof with American bar, then this might be the one for you.
Unique Quality: Rooftop pool and bar, the source of your eis-cool caipirinha!
FREE OF CHARGE SERVICES - Full breakfast, shuttle service from the hotel to downtown, transfer-out from hotel to both the domestic and international airports, daily newspaper.
Directions: Located about 10 km from Rio’s city center, 15 minutes walk from Copacabana beach
This hotel is just a few blocks walk from the Copacabana Beach.
We were impressed with the service.
The buffet breakfast was excellent and we had lunch one day too which was also good value for money.
Unique Quality: Rooftop bar with views of the beach.
A nice spot for sipping a Caipirinha, even has a small pool.
Is there a restaurant near Plaza Copacabana where they serve Churrascaria with Samba Show. I will be in Rio on 5 Apr and would like your recommendations.
No. Your best bet is to take a cab to Plataforma 1, in Leblon, where there's a good show and decent (but not churrasco) dunner.
I will try to make reservation for the show at Plataforma I in Leblon.
The most famous churrascaria (and deservedly so) is Porcao, with several branches, including one on R. Barao da Torre, in Ipanema.
Do you know whether they have one branch in Copacabana, otherwise I will have to go to the one in Ipanema. Do I have to make reservations (2 persons).
I'm afraid not - but Ipanema's not far away, and the walk will be good for your appetite! You can check the site at http://www.porcao.com.br/en/enderecos.asp. Bon apetit!
Thanks for the info. Will talk the walk but worried that it might not be safe.
Walk along the beach, and it will be.
Thanks Robine. Will take your advice.
By the way, I meant of course the well-lit pavement by the beach, not the sand!
