Also, I was a victim of credit card fraud--I only used a certain card once in Rio to check out of the Sofitel. When I arrived back to the States, I found out that someone in the hotel had provided my number to someone else and I had 5000 usd of construction materials charged on the card...the hotel was not too concerned when I reported it....In fact, I read on trip advisor that other travelers has experienced the same problem...beware!
Beautiful rooms...the hotel is not too big. Two pools, one for the morning and afternoon.
I did not like the beach...very small. Do not choose this hotel if you plan a lot of time at the beach...
