by acemj This was really a great hotel and a great value. Though it's not located in the historic center, you can catch an inexpensive cab and be wandering the streets of Pelourinho in ten minutes. The hotel is actually in an area known as Barra, which is a small beach town with some interesting shops, hostels and a laid back atmosphere. You'll also find a gorgeous lighthouse, which is a perfect setting to watch the sun rising and falling over the bay and the ocean on either side. The Bed and Breakfast in Brasil is call Pousada. In nearly evry village you´ll find one or more. If you´re traveling in the highseason, you should book in advance (especially for touristic places like the famous beaches) but in low season it is easy to find a room for a good price spontaneous. by AndreasK Amazonat Jungle Resort is located near Manaus and provides an ecologically friendly, tropical naturalist vacation destination resort on the Urubu river. The various land and river excursions offered by the Resort make for a great vacation. With eco-tourism, locals can earn a living while still keeping nature intact. Theme: Other

by Tigris He was talking about adjusting the prices, since they had stayed the same for several years. I guess one night, double room with air-con is about $18 - 20....?
A beautiful garden in the middle of the city! Run by somewhat of an eccentric elderly brazilian man (I'm sorry I have forgotten his name) who speaks english and french fluently, and studies many other languages through reading bibles and compare the different words. Its extremely clean and comfortable, and has a good breakfast buffet. Ask him to make you a banana-mix with milk and cinnamon - but be ware; we ate it till we thought we'd drop... :o) Each room is a small house, and they all face the lovely garden. And you get a hammock too, which actually was enough for us... we dangled till the early morning even though we had air-con and a bed just a few metres away. :o) Theme: OtherComparison: about averageAddress: Rua Ildefonso Albano 950, Fortaleza.

by glicko Rs50,- (~US$25) per night per person in a double room.
The view. I had the absolute best view of the ocean in possibly all of Salvador (see photo). Otherwise, rooms are basic. There is no A/C but you do get a fan. Theme: HotelComparison: less expensive than averageAddress: Rua Alfredo de Brito 20Other Contact: Tel: 071-243-2324

The small pousadas are the nicest places to stay in brazil in my opinion. They are often family run and have a very cosy atmosphere. It is also the best place to meet fellow brazilians as these places are not big and busy like 5 star resort hotels.
