Astron Baden Baden Hotel: Sao Paulo Accomodations

I stayed at this hotel when I traveled to Sao Paulo, Brazil in 2006. The Astron Baden Baden is located in a lively area of the city, surrounded by many options; entertainment venues, restaurants, bars, and shopping. There is a restaurant in the lobby of the hotel for tea and light snacks, but I utilized the full kitchen in the room and picked up some items at the grocery store across the street from the hotel.

I walked a few blocks to an Indian restaurant for dinner and for lunch I chose a WONDERFUL buffet style restaurant also within walking distance of the hotel.

Staff was great, however, there was only one person there who spoke English so if you do not know any Brazilian Portuguese I guess that would be a drawback--but it wasn't for me. The hotel was a approximately $150 per nite and if you are planning on a long term stay (several weeks or more),management is amenable to working out a deal.

The only drawback I can think of is that the walls were pretty thin, and me being an EXTREMELY light sleeper, I found I could hear everything going on outside (traffic) even from the 7th floor.

Very clean rooms, TV, phone lines, internet access, fitness facility...a great choice!

Hotel Praia Ipanema: Hotel in Rio de Janeiro

The hotel is very clean. The front desk staff is polite and knowledgable. The rooms are air conditioned..but the hallways and lobby aren't. It has a nice rooftop terrace where you can have a drink and possibly food.
We were lucky enough to have a room facing the beach...on the third floor. The view was pretty good in all directions.
The amenities were very nice, towels were good, always hot water. We felt very safe staying in the hotel and in the surrounding area.
We walked two blocks back of the hotel to the Kilo Restaurant and didn't encounter any problems.
I would recommend the hotel. It was a little pricey, but for the saftey and location, it was worth it. Our room was about $160US a night.

If your room faces the beach..the views are very nice. The balcony was certainly a decent size, not huge, but comfortable.

Rio & surrounds: Do not go without a hotel booking

Make sure you don't go to Rio & surrounds during December - February without having a confirmed hotel booking. We did not make reservations and ended up sleeping in a cockroach infested shack in Ilha Grande.

Every last hotel (even the most expensive ones) were fully booked.

Charming and nature responsible Lodges under the guidance of young and talented manager Fernando and naturalist bilingual guides, specialized in ecotourism concepts and with large knowledge on the fauna and flora of the visited areas.

I spent there 5 days and four nights, and I can say, it was the best in my life.
So many interesting programmes - like piranha fishing, horse riding, birds watching, travelling along Transpantaneira, photo safaries, etc.

Well organized transfers from the international airport of Cuiaba.

And FANTASTIC CUISINE, the chef - NATAL(Christmas) can prepare everything and the best way!!!

In the middle od nowhere you can use small but clean pool.
Rooms are airconditioned, cleaning service is very good.
Excellent chef in the kitchen, many sorts of local fruit and vegetables. Well prepared meals and fantastic desserts.
Very kind management.

Ipanema Plaza: Ipanema Plaza ****

a perfect stay in the heart of Ipanema.

there is a pool on the roof which a great view! breakfast and lunch/dinner are really good.

Cocoon: Spacehip Hotel in Salvador da Bahia

The Cocoon Hotel is a unique stay and place to be. Close to the beach, staff really friendly. The breakfast is great, lunch, dinner as well.
The rooms are really designed-space.

I can recommend this Hotel! Definitely.

Casa do Amarelindo: In the Heart of Pelourinho

in the heart of Pelourinho is this nice hotel. no argument to stay in another one!

I really can recommended this hotel. It is definitely one of the best in Pelourinho. Perhabs one of my favorites hotels where I've been. The rooms are full with luxury wooden ground floor, the bathroom is amazing, really big. Also they have a roof with a really nice pool and another nice bar with an amazing view. unique !
The breakfast is really yummy as well the lunch/dinner.
If you go you will not be disappointed!
