EL REFUGIO: PUERTO NATALES

Pros :
- In a rustic, wooden house
- Huge kitchen facilities
- Stove in the middle of the kitchen provides much-needed WARMTH
- Friendly family hosts and Hurben speaks English
- Breakfast included... eggs done to your desire!
- TV room

Cons :
- Beds are not very comfortable
- Walls are rather thin so you can hear right through
- Host offers camping equipment for rent but they are not the cheapest. Shop around town.

Dorm : 3000 Chilean Pesos (2003)

Knudsen Tour -Travel Agency & Guest House: A little odd - but clean and friendly!

When we got off the Navimag ferry we 'found' this accommodation. (people meet the ferry to advertise their guesthouses).
This one seemed a little odd as you had to go through a travel agency to get to it(??!!)

We rented a double room with shared bath. All was clean and very good.

The travel agency proved useful for information on tours and tickets!

The location was very central.

Hotel Cerro Castillo: ... family owned

This is a small family owned hotel, a little bit outside the centre of town, but still in walkable distance. It has not too much rooms and during our stay (3 nights) we just met one other traveller. The hotel offers a breakfast room and a kind of living room with TV on the first floor. When we came back 'home' from our day trips there was always some tea with biscuits available.

José Ojeda and his mother were very friendly and helpful. It was sometimes difficult to communicate, because his English was not too good (and the same with our Spanish).
We paid USD 45,- per night (Double room + breakfast), but saw on the internet (November 2010) that the rate has increased till USD 80,- !!

Friendly, familiar and informal atmosphere.

Hospedaje Papo's (Papo's House Lodging): Your home in Puerto Natales

Run by the lovely senora Julia, Hospedaje Papo's is a newly converted home sleeping up to 7 people in 4 rooms. Senora Julia is an absolute delight and will make sure you are comfortable in your new home which has a spacious living/dining room and spotless kitchen and bathrooms.

Based on price alone I would recommend this accomodation - 4000 pesos per night including breakfast.

Not a great place if you are traveling alone and looking to meet people but if you are with a group of friends (and if you have come into town on the Navimag boat you will be!!!) this is a perfect spot to enjoy the town.

Julia doesn't speak English, so some Spanish will be useful, but she will do her absolute best to help you, regardless.

Very convenient for the pier for the Navimag boat you can easily stumble here with your backpack - Senora Julia meets incoming boats and leads the way.

The price is unbeatable.

Senora Julia will melt your heart!

Hosteria Lago Grey: What a view

Hosteria Grey is in the western area of the Torres del Paine National Park next to Lake Grey. From the loby and the restaurant you can view Lake Grey in the foreground of Grey Glacier. this is also the place where you start the sailing for the glacier

Great location, beautiful view.
front desk staf not very efficient

Hosteria Las Torres: Great Place in the Park

Our favorite accommodation in Torres del Paine park is Hosteria Las Torres. The rooms are very nice, the launges are beautifully decorated, the fodd is great and the staff, very helpfull.
It's also the place to start your trek to the Torres Base

There is no pool in the hosteria, which is a pity, but we enjoyed very much to sit in the launge in the evening

the guesthouses in puerto natales: A cheap, satisfying and fun option

A good option for accommodation in Puerto Natales (and not only P. natales, but the whole Chile) are definately the guesthouses....there are lots of them spread all over town, cheaper than any hotel or hostel and usually clean and comfortable. At least I did not hear any one complaining....these guesthouses work quite like hostels: you can buy bus tickets from them, rent equipments (just be carefull with the quality of it!), order excursions etc. They offer breakfast included as well as luggage storage while you?re on torres, and you can also use the kitchen, the living room and tv room...
Furthermore, it?s a great experience after all you will have the chance to spend some days with a chilean familly (and boy, they are great people!), as well as meet many other interesting travelers who will give you nice tips about Torres....
It isn?t hard to find them, all you have to do is to arrive on bus! There will be a bunch of women, screaming with their advertisements, practically attacking you hehehehehe...
They cost from 3000 to 4000 pesos (more or less 5 to 6 dolars). If you are going in high season (summer) making reservation isn?t a bad idea...

Hospedaje Nancy: Nice, welcoming and ... warm ! Sympa et.. chaud !

Very nice couple running this B & B, where everything is available (breakfast, hot water, laundry, big and soft beds, booking of tours and buses, and, above all... a good heating !).

Un couple sympa gere ce B & B ou tout est dispo (petit-dej, eau chaude, laverie, lits grands et moelleux, reservations de tours et de bus, et, surtout... un bon chauffage !).

A ridiculously small price : 3000 pesos (4.5 USD) ,with breakfast included !

Un prix ridicule : 3000 pesos (4.5 USD) avec petit-dej inclus !

Patagonia Adventure (Puerto Natales): One of the best hostals that I stayed at in Chile

The owners were very helpful. If you needed advice on where to stay/hike in Torres del Paine they could answer your questions and reserve you a bed in the refugios.

The rooms where either doubles or bunks (with 6 beds). Lots of friendly people were staying there while i was there, and it made my stay more enjoyable.

You could leave some of you baggage in a shed if you didnt want to hike around with so much wieght.
