Eurotel Hotel – Providencia Santiago Our room 240 is not in the hotel but directly across the road in apartment block which looks rather ordinary. We were wondering what small hovel we where going to encounter. Seeing the hotel looks rather flash and modern we decided because we had chosen the cheapest rate (US95) our expectations had to be lowered. To our great surprise our room or better to say was a two bedroom spacious apartment! A roomy lounge room, complete kitchen, two bedrooms, two contemporary bathrooms, internet connection, air-conditioning, dining table, CD player, modern furniture, great position…two minutes from department stores, shops, cafes, restaurants and transport. So what incredible VALUE. We are still wondering if we got the wrong booking…we are certainly not going to ask or complain. So one must ask for apartment across from hotel to get value. We noticed rates in Hotel were much higher (US150 – 195).Our booking was done through Hotel Cap Ducal in Vina Del Mar so speaking in Spanish may have done the trick. Pros: Remarkable value, handy position, trendy area, apartment not room. It’s a MUST. Restaurant Hotel Euro café is terrific for lunch a three course meal for $10.00 seems to be the IN place to eat. Excellent place if you have extra guest or children. Metro close by. Breakfast included, safety box, magnetic key in security building, working desk. 30 minutes to airport. Shopping centre and Malls around the corner. Money exchange. Cons: No mini bar but fridge, supermarket down the road to get vino etc. We highly recommend this hotel especially this apartment. (ROOM 240)No coffee or tea facilities but does have a kettle. (Supermarket list) What to do: Hotel Orly offers tours through About Tours, most languages spoken. Full day, half day tours. Drinks at Braniganns. Lunch at Euro café, dinner at Liguria restaurant (2 doors down from Hotel Orly) food was fab seemed to be the IN place to eat as it was incredibly crowded. Recommendation: Absolutely. Theme: HotelPrice: US$80-120 » Currency ConverterComparison: less expensive than averageAddress: Guardia Vieja 285 Providencia

 | | | | Hacienda Los Lingues: Overpriced | Satisfaction: | | | | |
I live in Santiago, and we met friends travelling here on the spur of the moment. The room was clean, but very dark. They couldn't find our key, so we had to push a chair in front of the door!! There was no menu for dinner, just a set offering. The cost of the meal was 60 USD and it was frozen peas and carrots, creamed spinach and a broiled white fish. Breakfast was not included in the room rate, and after travelling extensively in South America this is the first time this has happened. It was $24 USD per person. The breakfast was not ready, and although the staff was very friendly (we speak spanish) this is an extremely poorly run hotel. The bed was short and uncomfortable, and the room smelled very moldy and you could see the water damage on the ceiling. The grounds were lovely, but for a one night stay 300,000 pesos (about $600 USD) was an outrageous price to pay for the quality of this hotel. When we were checking out the manager looked bored, and kept us waiting while he read a book in another room. The whole set up reminded me of Fawlty Towers! It is 45 minutes from Santa Cruz, and I would NEVER stay at this hotel again. The Hotel Santa Cruz on the Plaza is cheaper and head and shoulders above this place in all regards. After talking to a staff member, they said that most guests are from Europe and they never return. Enough said.
The only saving grace is the beautiful setting and grounds. The staff are very nice and the gardens are lovely to sit in. It is about a 2 hour drive.

This hostal is so huge, there are so many rooms, the ceiling is so high, the kitchen is so small, the showers are so hot, the ping-pong table is so great, the patio is so cool... It had to be also an israeli place !!! 4000 pesos (6.5 USD) a night, really close to the center, 1 free hour of internet each day... 4000 pesos (6.5 USD) par nuit, vraiment proche du centre, 1 heure de web par jour...
