a great 3star-hotel
I had 2 nights in this hotel and in many ways it was quite a good choice : First of all it is in walking distance from the centre of town and it has a lovely garden and even a swimming-pool (see my other photographs!)
My single-room had aircondition, BUT it was also very hot day and night, because it was one of the few rooms with the only window facing the inner hall, where a wintergarden was giving some extralight into the hall, but also the sun was burning there extremely hot all day long !
It might make sense to ask for a room facing the garden-side of the building !!!
I payed 50 euro per night, including breakfast in Jan. 2008.
Unique Quality: Quite unique about this hotel is the "estacionamiento privado", a private car-park for quite a lot of cars and even buses, that is totally fenced in and the high gates are beeing locked at night.
I had a machine to make hot water in my room, and the tea-bags were complementary by the hotel. There was a minibar as well.

the worst
the hotel dont have an elevator,the rooms are small cells,the safe could be function only in the morning,brekfast is served only after seven in the morning,and if you have a flight earlyier,you want get even a glass of water.you have better bring your oun saop,as the saop container was dry.

City Hotel
We Stayed at the City Hotel right before heading to Rapa Nui as well as on our way back to Canada. We were very satisfied when we found this place because of it's location, style and agreeable price. The staff were very kind and helpful when we were there. It's walking distance to many places in Downtown Santiago and it has secure parking. If I go back to Santiago, that's where I'll be staying again.
Unique Quality: It has a 50's feel to it, but it's not old and musty. It's also right beside the Plaza de Armas
