we will be in santiago for 5 days... can anyone recomend a flyfishing day trip or an outfitter that can help us out? Thanks
I don't think you can flyfish near Santiago... That's way South, in the Patagonia...

Misunderstandigs - especially those that are obvious - are always quite funny, when taking a walk far away from home. This Lady-Man shop is a simple hairdresser offering service to ladies and men and not what you might have expected ;-)
I found this shop in the big complex behind of the statue of holy Santiago.
The monument for Gran Capitan Don Pedro de Valdivia is standing in the middle of the small square on top of Cerro Santa Lucia, a great park with a waterfall,some nice benches, a kiosk and a great view over the city of Santiago and its surrounding mountains.
b.t.w. Gran Capitan Don Pedro de Valdivia is the same person as on the big monument of Plaza de Armas !
This is Metro de Santiago, santiago's subway or undreground or u-bahn or subte (as you wish), the best transportation around downtown and central areas of Santiago. It's cheap, fast, safe and clean.
There is also MetroBus, a system of buses to complement accessibility of Metro, to the rest of the city.
How much cost a ticket???
Single fare depends on the time of the day the metro is used:
7:15-9:00 and 18:00-19:30 (hora alta) : 400 pesos (about 0.5 US dolars). Other times : 310 pesos. Student ticket : 100 pesos. There is also an "inteligent" card available for 1.000 pesos (tarjeta multivía) which deduct the appropriate fare automatically, you can charge this card whit more money whenever you want, but it is not recomended if you are going to stay here just for few days. Metrobus ticket 590 pesos (single fare using metro and metrobus).
This restaurant ( marrocco style ) is really appealing nice set up, decoration very warm, Kitch. An awesome terrace, where you feell travelling to marroco, I have been there several times, always full of people, a lot of life. nice experience. Try Trilogia Zanzibar to taste the appetizers, tahine marroqui de cordero ( lamb ) very good,
Cerro Santa Lucia, also known as the Parque Municipal, is an absolutely beautiful hill in the middle of Santiago, where you can easily spend a lovely day hiking up and around the park, stopping in the museum full of artifacts regarding Chile´s indigenous people, and just generally having a lovely time and losing yourself in nature. I loved it so much I did it twice. Its free to just wander around, take pictures, and enjoy some quiet time (at least in tourist off-season!). Probably my favorite thing to do in Chile!
