Hotel Bonaparte Santiago

On my first trip to Santiago in October 2007, I stayed in this pleasant boutique hostel in Providencia. The boutique inclued ensuite rooms, a swimming pool, a restaurant and other facilities you expect in a four star hotel. I had a pleasant stay; my room was lovely and spacious with air conditioning; and I had a great buffet breakfast which was included in the hotel rate. Only criticism that I found, however, that the hotel was impersonal, formal and I didn't meet any travellers, which I usually do in hostels and other places.

Unique Quality: Near the main streets of Providencia for the shops, restaurants and cinemas and near a metro station.

5 Star Service ~ 2 Star Price

The Hotel Bonaparte is a wonderful hotel located in a quiet fashionable part of Santiago, Chile. I was there for three days attending a George Washington University doctoral seminar. I stayed in one of their suites during January 2006.

Unique Quality: I stayed in one of their suites. The rooms have high ceilings, crown moldings and offer every amenity you would expect in a 5 star hotel. The room rate included a wonderful continental breakfast (including hand squeezed orange juice).

We used their conference facilities and they were great with bathrooms close by. The Hotel even arranged private trips to local jewelers and transport to the airport at very reasonable prices.

The restaurant has authentic well priced offerings closing at 11:00 PM and has room service. The desk staff speaks English, German and French.

The hotel is a short walk away from the 11 September Avenue where you will find a large assortment of shops, the post office, international ATMS, and , restaurants. A local market is even closer only three blocks away.

I would recommend the Bonaparte Hotel for both conferences and vacation travelers.

QUIET GEM

Hotel Bonaparte is an absolute gem. When you first drive through the Providencia neighbourhood you know you can’t go wrong with a hotel here. This is a rich residential area full of well-manicured gardens and friendly people away from the hustle and bustle of central Santiago. The entry area is past the grass-covered car park and down the stairs where you are greeted by the friendly staff.

Rooms are nice with a mini bar and very good bathrooms. Satellite TV and the best thing – quiet! The air conditioner works great and the large beds are comfy.

For business travellers they have 5 large meetings rooms, a business centre and underground parking. The bar overlooks the gardens and pool area.

A totally tranquil place to stay!

Unique Quality: There is free internet access on a nice desk on the first floor overlooking the lobby. The pool is modest and sits inside a nice garden with attractive rock features. If you use the gym, you will have the place to yourself. Turn up the TV and run or cycle to your heart’s content. Then have a good sweat in the sauna. Warning – if you need to dry some socks, they turn the sauna off at night!

Complimentary breakfast is buffet style and served in the breakfast room. There are micro-gardens outside the windows that give you the feel of a rainforest.

There is a great convenience store nearby (ATM, great hot food & cold beer) and a few interesting bistros nearby. For fantastic restaurants you can have a long and healthy walk through the most beautiful residential area in Santiago in complete safety. Panoramico Shopping Center is 1/2 mile away.

The friendly front desk staff can organise any activity and they offer safety deposit boxes
