A great place to be far away from
This is by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed in.
Not only is it incredibly filthy, the staff is rude and everything is broken.
Toilet didn't flush, lights didn't work and last but not least I had no water the last day of my stay.
Fights in the hallway.
Sliding door to shared "balcony" (with a row a rattling AC units) could not be locked.
Unique Quality: You can leave.
Never seen a prison from the inside, but this must be pretty close.

Financial problem
In July of 2006 I was the organizer of a meeting that brought fifty or so people to this hotel, for two weeks. As the result of an inappropriate use of my credit card, the hotel received double payment for a part of the bill. The amount of the double payment was about US$11000. It took me four months to get the hotel to refund this double payment and, when they did, they did not make a full refund. Now (May 2007, eight months later) they still owe me about US$1000.

hotels in Providencia or nearby
Hi all,
my wife and I will be in Santiago from April 13th to the 20th. We have been told to look for a hotel in or around the "comuna" Providencia. Any suggestions for a hotel around 80 dollars a night, clean, fairly quiet?
Preferably, near the metro line that goes to the Universidad de Chile.

i quite like Maria de Angola on Miguel Claro. stayed there for the 1st time in november with my group and was quite satisfied.
my other guide friend always raves about the best western in providencia but i haven't seen it.
the Orly is very good too. but hard to get into

We were happy with the Hotel Los Nogales. It is about 6 minutes walk to metro station. Is in a real residential part of Providencia. Paid $55 a few years back. Has a kitchen in the room, and air conditioning.

I stayed in L'Ambassade- Petit Hotel Santiago, metro Pedro de Valdivia in Providencia.
Really good service, large rooms and a lovely swimming pool in the garden!
Decently prices aswell compared to other boutique hotels in the area.
Highly recommended!
