Shuttle from Santiago Best Western Majestic to Valprasio

by jaybeckham

I have two clients who will be staying at the Majestic in January. They need a shuttle from the hotel in the morning to the cruise terminal in Valprasio.

Can anyone help?

That would be a"transfer" here. Should cost anywhere between US$130-160 for a private car and less if using a shared service. Usually the most reliable service is the one offered by the cruise company itself. If not, have a look at PortCompass as they try to link people up.
The only cheaper way to do it is by regular bus but it is not recommended as they would have to deal with the metro and two bus terminals plus a taxi. Not a good idea with luggage.
BTW, that isn't a great hotel. Excellent Indian restaurant though.

Surely the hotel can arrange this?

Hi...Thanks for the information. Is the other Best Western a better hotel?

The other BW is Los Españoles, isn't it? Yes, much better. One is downtown and the other is in Providencia, so it depends what they prefer. Reviews on Tripadvisor.

Travel Tips for Santiago

Best pool in Santiago

by mortica

The best place to relax when in santiago: At Piscina Antilen. A public pool at a mountain near cerro san cristobal. You shold take a taxi, because its a long walk up. Very big nice pool, beautiful views and not too many people. ok for children. The cost: 6000 pesos + taxi

Drink Wine with the Devil; Concha y Toro Style

by RawdgerDodger

Wine lovers beware! The devil has been found lurking in the wine cellars of Concha y Toro and is watching over the wine to make sure there are no theives. That is the story. As the legend goes in the Concha y Toro winery, Mr. Concha y Toro was having problems with people taking his wines so he spread a rumor that a devil lived inside his cellars and word has it that it worked. There is also a rare Camenere Wine that can be found in this distillery. In the light it glows violet and supposidly can be found no where else in the world.

Santiago's Metro System

by Maberk

Santiago's metro system is clean, efficient and safe. All stations are easily recognisable by a saying bearing 3 red Diamonds, inside the stations there are murals and works of art and even small shopping centers!
There are 3 lines (Green, Red and Yellow) which connect the big neighbourhoods to the city center and las Condes area.

There used to be Empanadas ... Souvenir d'empanada

by Maillekeul about Empanadium Loft

You are in South America but you've never tried the empanadas before ? Shame on you !!! This was probably one of the best places to eat empanadas. Still, my friend Camilo74 told me that the doors are shut now... It was probably too huge a place to be profitable...

Guess ...

A votre avis...

Bike Tours in Santiago

by leosanti

A good way to see the city if you don't have much time is a city bike tour. You can cover much more ground than you would walking, and you're not stuck behind a sheet of glass on a bus. The one I did was extremely safe and really interesting. A great and unexpected way to experience the city. There are a couple of companies, but the only one I tried was 'La Bicicleta Verde'. Top marks.
