More about Marriott Hotel Santiago

Great views and excellent service

by bruingirl about Marriott Santiago

This Marriott property, just like many other Marriott properties, upheld the same high standards. The lobby is beautiful. The rooms were clean and spacious. We were in an executive suite with amazing views of the Andes! The hotel staff was friendly and helpful! There is a little gift store where you can buy little souvenirs. There is also a fully equipped gym, heated pool, and jacuzzi. There is wireless Internet throughout the whole hotel so you can type away anywhere! As an elite member of Marriott, we were given a hospitality basket with snacks and wine! The view is just amazing! We woke up to views of the snow-capped Andes every morning! The hotel is also located within walking distance to a gigantic shopping center with every kind of store imaginable!

taxi

by JDUNN

We are staying Santigo Chile in January after a cruise. The cruise line is charging us $70 to tralel from the MARRIOTT Santiago to the Santiage airport. There must be a cheaper way. We will have a lot of luggage so if anyone has a taxi rate or a limosine let us know

Mmm... I made it in a classic cab (the black and yellow ones, I recall), stopped in the middle of the city : it only charged us 6000 pesos (that means around 8-9 USD), with no additional fee for our luggages in the trunk. You can make comparisons...

Re: taxi

anything over 10000 pesos and you are being totally ripped off - approx 630 pesos to USD.

the hotel marriott this very far from the airport is necessary to cross all the city of Santiago is impossible that receives 6000 pesos

by the passage it is but of 50 kilometros

Re: Re: taxi

Ok; so let's say 10.000 (always bargain).

Re: Re: taxi

Call "Transvip" they charge around 5000 (~10 dollars)pesos from providencia and will pick you up wherever you need. Very reliable and trustworthy so you wont get ripped off. You shouldnt be paying more than 10-15 dollars ( ~5000-8000 pesos per person) for a ride to the airport from centro/providencia/las condes area.

Re: taxi

$70 from the hotel to the airport seems quite a lot. Transvip is the cheapest and most reliable way to go to the airport. Ask at the front desk in the hotel. And please DO NOT take the cruise fee. No way!

alo? 70 dollars!?!?!?!?
TOO MUCH!!
Please check www.transvip.cl
a swedish friend of mine had the minibis pick him up from my house in La Florida (south east area of Santiago, opposite in aprox 50 minutes from the airport) and was only charged CH$5.000 pesos (less than US$10.00). As far as I know, this is the normal fee. You do share the mini bus, though.
May be you can get a good bargain with a taxi, but previously agreeing on the fee, the max. price shouldn´t be more than 15 dollars.
Hope this info is useful.
chao!
