Hotel near Baquedano

For the organised Trans South America trip (in 28 days from Santiago to Rio), our first hotel was the hotel Principado.

Let’s say that this is the small brother of the Hotel Principado de Asturias (superior 4 star hotel).

At first we had a very, very small room with two twins; there wasn't even a decent place to place our two luggages. Like this I almost fell, when I was trying to reach the toilet during the night (in the half dark, in order not to wake my companion sleeping partner.

The next day we asked and got a bigger room, which was more comfortable.

The bathrooms were clean.

Breakfast was on the top floor with a splendid view over the snowy mountains.

Check the prices on their website (single: 55US$, double: 65 US$)

ATTENTION : Don't let them do your laundry, it is a rip off, I paid way over to much just to wash a plastic bag with dirty clothes. (I had no time to look for an ordinary laundry in the city, so this was my only possibility)

Unique Quality: Just a few steps away from Baquedano (metro station), like this the whole city is easily reachable.

Good location at Santiago

Pleasant stay with nice staff. Offers free parking but you can also leave you car park right in front of the hotel and save the trouble of waiting to get it from the elevator garage. Good restaurant with decent food, nothing fancy. The included breakfast is ok, with the basic itens and it does get boring after three days with the same options. Free internet access at the business center helps to get in touch with the rest of the world but you need some patiance to wait your turn. The location is the best part at this hotel pretty close to the Baquedano subway station and nice parks all around.
