Ancud, the northern entrance to Chiloe
Ancud is the northern entrance to the island of Chiloe. There are ferries every 30 minutes that will take back and forth near Puerto Montt.
Being a city with such movement to the "continent" makes Ancud not a very "chilote" city. In fact, it doesn't even have a typical Chiloe church.
Although it's a big town, it's not the most pretty of all.
If you go to Chiloe, don't just stay in Ancud. There's so much to see, than sometimes you can even pass by this town.
