I have not stayed at this hostel but know people who have stayed there and been satisfied. The website has all the information you would need to know about the place with information in English, German and Spanish.
The Hotel Garcia Hurtado de Mendoza is currently the best accommodation in Osorno. It is not the prettiest of hotels but has comfortable large beds and warm rooms. Best to ask for a room that is at the back of the hotel rather than the street side because of the birds that are rather noisy in the morning.
The rate for a single room is 61,600 pesos making it one of the most expensive places to stay in Osorno (even more expensive than some of the nice hotels in Santiago).
The hotel offers a buffet breakfast included in the room rate. The hotel has WiFi access which works best in the lobby area but can work in the rooms also. The location is very central in Osorno. The new Cencosud Mall is being constructed a block down the road and opposite this construction is a good handicraft shopping area.
Residencial Ortega is one of the cheapest places in town, in a good location close to the bus terminal. It seems to attract backpackers and travelling businessmen. For 14,000 pesos, we had a double room, with a shared bathroom. A standard Chilean hotel breakfast (instant coffee or tea, bread, jam and butter) was included in the price. One wall of the kitchen area was full of business cards left by previous guests, mostly Chilean.
