Iquique glorioso!!

First of all, Iquique was the city that received me when i was reciently borned. I had a very nice time there when i was a child. Since 1980, because of minery and fishing industries development this city started growing very fast. Also is known because of it's "zona franca" where you can buy anything without taxes. I recommend to go to Iquiques nice beaches, and also to it's incredible desert. Maybe you can feel that Iquique has a special cosmopolit taste, because there live a lot people from different countries. People is very friendly and i really miss they´re beaches.

GEOGLIFOS

Ubicados a 96 Kms. al Sureste de Iquique. Los dibujos se ubican en la ladera de los cerros de la costa. Es necesario recorrer aproximadamente 3 Kms. por un camino de tierra sinuoso admirando varios paneles de dibujos en toda su extensión.

Los geoglifos de Pintados sin duda representan el conjunto de geoglifos de mayor magnitud que se conoce (36 Kms.)

Varios son los paneles que acaparan el interes de los visitantes, por la gran cantidad de figuras que los componen y por el enigma que rodea esta singular expresión humana de tiempos pasados.

Sobresalen figuras humanas de diseño estilizado que visten de ponchos y llevan en la cabeza un tocado de plumas, saurios y cóndores. Tambien sobresalen figuras geométricas escaleradas, que representan accidentes geográficos y corrales.

quique, con una población cercana a los ciento cincuenta mil habitantes es la capital de la Primera Región y el principal puerto pesquero de Chile. Además posee una importante actividad comercial que se centra en su Zona Franca. Iquique reúne historia, playas, desierto, oasis y altiplano en sus alrededores.

Iquique's a great place to visit within Chile, first time I went there it was with my parents and my younger brother.
Iquique it is located in the middle of the atacama desert, so it's like an Oasis, it has many attractions like the Casino, it has a huge commercial center named ZOFRI (Zona Franca de Iquique) where you can buy tax free products.
