Valparaiso to Santiago Airport Transfers

by troalta55

Is transportation readily available at Cruise ship pier and what are expected costs. 4 persons

Re: Valparaiso to Santiago Airport Transfers

by Huentetu

There are desks at the port terminal to book transportation and the cost varies according to the transport; taxi or van. People generally try to join forces to reduce costs and take a van service. You may need to do that if there are 4 of you with luggage. For 4 in a van the cost is somewhere around $70 pp and some offer a tour included. With 6 people the cost will drop pp.

The bus station is also not that far and much cheaper.

No ATM in the cruise termina only a exchange desk is available.

World Cuisine Chile

by marsistanbul

Defining South American cuisine is something of a challenge. This vast continent displays diverse geographical and climatic characteristics that have helped shape its rich and varied cuisine.Yet a number of common elements or native ingreditents are present amongst it diverse foods;potatoes, maize, chilles, and beans have all been used for centuries around the continent, mainstays that are slowly gaining greater international recognition.
One of the elements that define South America's culinary characteristics is the historical interrelation between European and South American cuisine,a marriage that, from a gastronomic viewpoint, benefited both peoples learnt new cooking techniques whilst the Europeans began to understand the versality of native ingreditents, such as the potato,tomato..Chilean cuisine is simple and popular, and although it perhaps lacks in sophistication,it is extremely tasty and nutritious.

great murals

by globetrott

I saw these great murals when walking through Valparaiso at the beginning of Av. Brasil, just about 200 meters from Plaza Sotomayor. Murals might even be not the right expression for these great works of art, that are rather paintings by a great artist.

Elevators

by frankcanfly

The Elevators of Valparaiso are quite famous around the world. They are also historically protected; included in the World Heritage Site boundaries.

They are also very usefull to the walking explorer. :-)

In times of the colony, this place was "the Conception Fort",This fort was the defense of the bay against the pirates, but never shot any bullet.
Mr.Tomas Gervasoni,Honorary Consul of Italy in Valparaiso, gived his name to this amazing Mirador.Gran Hotel Gervasoni and Museo Lucas are here..
