The hills of Valparaíso
by Bjorgvin
Explore some of the hills (cerros) of Valparaíso (to name a few: Cerro Concepcion, Cerro Alegre, and Cerro Santo Domingo). Use the wooden trams or ascensores to reach the upper city. The hills are an impressive mix of colourful houses built by immigrant merchants, dating back to the early 1900s, winding streets, narrow alleys and steep stairways. Many Europeans made Valparaíso their second home in its heyday. The vast majority were English and German and they built houses influenced by European architecture.
Colo Colo..El Indio
by marsistanbul
Former club Magallanes players led by Arellano brothers, created their new club Colo Colo on April 1925,naming the club for a Chilean Mapuche chief(Colo Colo was a Mapuche leader,he held the position of Peace Leader, but took ever strategic duties when Spanish conquest began, becoming the head of the Native Mapuche forces againist invaders)
Colo Colo's nicknames El Indio(the Indian) or El eterno Campeon(the Eternal champion),and I believe that El Indio is one of the fantastic football club in Chile, and have the craziest( the DIEHARD) fans, because I am the one of them:) And I had a chance to watch of their last championship match,sure..We're the CHAMPION of 2007..
Saludos El Indio,saludos muchacos
Consulado de França / the French Consulate
by globetrott
Consulado de França / The French Consulate is one of my favorite buildings along Av. Brasil. You will find it at a place in a distance of about 1 km from Plaza Sotomayor, a building with an interesting architecture, lovely balconies, columns and even a few palmtrees in front of it. Even more interesting than the French Consulate are the 2 other buildings in the same block : see my next tip for these lovely Art-Nouveau-buildings !

Cara a cara con - Neruda - Face to face
by elpariente
On of the three Neruda houses , where he celebrated the New Year to see the Valparaiso fireworks
The house and the gardens , with spectacular views , are very nice , full of memories , poems ,books , a wooden horse and also a bar with marine atmosphere
Neruda dedicated to the Sebastiana this poem : "T built the house . I did it first with air . Then I Lifted the flag in the air and I left it hanging from the sky , from the star , from the light and from the darkness
