Chilean art work
by tini58de
There are a couple of museums in Valparaiso, but we got to see some authentic art work at the Café Mirador. The owner is an artist and you can admire his paintings and woodcarvings right there in his café. And he will be proud to show you around a little and give you first hand explainations!
Club Naval
by globetrott
The Club Naval is one of the many lovely buildings with great architecture along Av. Brasil in a distance of maybe 400 meters from Plaza Sotomayor. Also that pink building next to it looks interesting with great architecture and details. Another good reason to walk instead of taking a taxi or bus when exploring Valparaiso.
"El Baron"
by marsistanbul
it's nothing short of a miracle that such complex and antique constructions have survived not only the passage of time but also the wave of eartquakes and fires that ravaged the city more than once.Among these is the church of San Francisco,sitting a top the hill,El Baron.
Old legend has it that sailor honorably distinguished this church by giving it the name "the tower of Don Pancho" which then became affectionately known as "Pancho" throughout the city.
In the end,"Pancho"is known as such throughout the land...
Mountains

Valpariaso is a city built on the mountains next to the Ocean. You can climb any of them and they have old fashioned elevators which take you to the top and you can get wonderful sights of the city, This photo was taken from the Elevator Concepcion
EL QUISCO, EL TABO and ISLA...

EL QUISCO, EL TABO and ISLA NEGRA (Pablo Neruda's House). {PITCURE: Myself at Pablo Neruda's former house, now a museum}
El Tabo is probably my best known beach in Chile. Like most beaches in central Chile, it is beautiful, calm, safe and FREEZING (the Humboldt Current comes directly from Antarctica and the sea water temperature is -I was told- about 44-45 F, or +7 C). Relax, you'll get used to it after a while...
Pablo Neruda (the great poet) had a house on Isla Negra beach. He built it in the shape of a ship. It is quite a big place now running a museum, with multilingual tours around the house. I walked all the way from El Tabo to Isla Negra, thinking it was a big deal, but when I looked at the map I got quite disappointed to realise how short the distance was... hehehe...
