Yes.

Yes, you could go to the beach, but in November temperatures in Vina del Mar won't go much higher than 20 Celsius, and if you plan to put your feet in the water it will be freezing!
Anyway, Viña's a very nice place to visit, enjoy!

Best Regards,
Renzo

Not really beach weather. We were there in November and the pace was pretty deserted. Definately off season! Check out my pages..I have lots of information there.

Thank you all very much for the info, may have to change schedule a little.

one thing you have to consider is that 'beach weather' in Viña ain't the same that in the caribbean :) Even in summer, after sunset, you do have to wear (at least)long sleeves ...to be safer, I'd also put on pants!

thank you will keep that in mind

Travel Tips for Viña del Mar

church

by chancay

sorry, don´t have anymore information about this church, but have a look on this url:

http://www.vinadelmar.cl/

it´s only in spanish, but I think, nevertheless you´ll understand the main information, can see a lot of fotos of this beautiful little town (together with Valparaiso)

Peru Avenue

by Aquamantos

This avenue goes through all the coast line of Viña del Mar and conects with Reñaca and Concon, nice town-beaches.
Lot of good restairants and Hotels are placed here, so there's lot of movement during Summer time.
This Avenue was built in 1930 with the purpose of unite the beaches of Estero and Acapulco (but not from Mexico! ha ha ha).

Walking along the sea shore

by filipdebont

Despite the grey weather, it was nice to walk along the sea shore.

At several place you could see beautiful sand sculptures.

Of course when you visit this place in summer time, it must be more beautiful. As when we visited Vina del mar it was winter time, grey and wet, and of course with less color.

But anyway it always gives a special feeling walk along a big Ocean. Also because of the fact that our during our Trans South America trip we would be travelling from one Ocean to another.

Our guide told us that it was a kind of a tradition to bade in the ocean on both sides, but as the temperatures were not so . . . I found it no good idea at all ...brrrr so cold.

"Vina del Mar"

It's a 15 minute bus journey north of Valparaiso. It's Chile's prime beach resort which draws Chileans and visitors alike in the summer. There are a number of beaches that are popular among the locals and the coastline from Caleta Abarca to Cochoa can be enjoyed by many int taking the view of the sea. Note the Muelle Vergara where refined sugar used to be loaded into ships and still now is an important landmark.

Vina del Mar is known as the "Garden City" where people can enjoy the nature of all seasons. There are some interesting parks to visit such as Reloj de Flores, built for the 1962 World Cup Finals that were hosted in Chile; Quinta Vergara Park and the National Botanical Gardens. A museum worth visiting is Francisco Fonck Museum and Wulff Castle.

"Viña del Mar: My hometown"

Viña del Mar is often called the "garden city" due to its many gardens around and palm trees. It's a rather modern city, with nice beaches and very close to Santiago, Chile's capital city. For the same reason, it's a very common destination for people living in Santiago.
Viña del Mar's best season is definately during the summer, in January and February. There's lots to do during the summer, and there are lots of tourist attractions.
Viña's peak event is the "Festival de la Canción" (Song Festival) which is an international song festival with lots of latin and english music concerts. It lasts 1 week, and it's always during the 3rd week of February.
So come to Viña, you'll enjoy it!!!
