Rafting in the Trancura
by IIGUANA
The Trancura river is divided into 2 parts: the Alto Trancura (upper Trancura) y Bajo Trancura (lower Trancura). The first one is quite fast, with 7 small waterfalls. The latter is rather calm, for a beginner. If you've never done this, and if you're alone, try the Lower Trancura. But if you have done rafting before, or if you've got a group of friends which can actually fill a boat (from 6 to 10), then try the upper Trancura.
Pucon

"Pucon"
Travellers based themselves in Pucon to experience the great outdoors such as climbing up Volcan Villarrica or hike in Parque Nacional Huerquehue.
Avenida O'Higgins is the main town's street where there are shops, restaurants and tourist agencies. Other aspects of the town worth exploring are the Playa Grande and La Poza. It only takes around half a day to check out the town's sights from which travellers begin exploring the great outdoors around Pucon.
As well as planning to climb up Volcan Villarrica and hiking in Parque Nacional Huerquehue, there is an opportunity to horse ride in the Lucura Valley and the Mapuche reservations; relax in one of the termas; or tour Lago Caburgua and the environs.
Ducky chapter 1
by IIGUANA
"Ducky"
At first, I thought that ducky was far more boring than rafting. The river Liucura was a grade 3, compared to the Trancura, grade 5 sometimes. Then, the boats seemed like children boats. Like toys.
But I was wrong. Definately, the best thing I did this year in Pucon. Quite fun and with lots of adrenaline.
The trip to the Liucura river takes you thrugh wonderful landscapes, with a close view of the volcano and some other mountains.
Getting ready to get on the boat. The clothes are given by the agency, so don't worry about them. They're quite warm, so you won't feel the cold water.
Left, right, ahead, backwards... at first it's a little bit difficult.
Pablo, Ignacio and I, with our guide Sergio on the yellow kayak.
40 minutes of still water, just to get the hang of it. Beautiful landscapes while on this part. Afterwards, you won't see the surroundings. You'll be more into the white water.
Once the technique is mastered, you'll get to the first rapids. But once there, the fun and the adrenalin are great.
You might swallow some water, but that's just something common. Besides falling off the boat, nothing else can happen
