Good Hotel

5-star hotel, wireless internet, great service!!
Not in the old center but close to beach and a reasonable big street with shops.
With taxi to the old center for restaurants, etc about 5 min for 4000/5000 pesos
Big pool but not a part of the pool is in the shadow, restaurant is next ot the poolwith shadow.
Rooms are great with high ceiling and view to the sea.
I have enjoyed our stay here very much and can advise to others.

Unique Quality: Room, service are marvelous
Food not that great

Grand Old Hotel

This a large pink old hotel which is well-maintained. It is next to the beach and close to restaurants and shopping of Boca Grande.

The food here is OK, a breakfast includes a choice of exotic fruit juices, and there is a petting zoo for the kids. Water pressure could be better, and my lock was not working all the time, but overall I was satisfied.

Fancy and affordable!

I enjoyed my stay there enormously! From hospitable staff (a.k.a. thank you for making 13 keycards for my room in 10 days, we just kept losing them), great atmosphere, it was a great service, probably the best I had in my life. Honestly, for the price we were paying, I was a bit uncomfortable with all the things that were at our disposal. If you like a bit high class, this is something you shouldn't miss.

Unique Quality: I was fascinated with the pool in the back of the hotel; surrounded by trees and almost a small ZOO, with tables and a place to dine right next to the pool, it's adorable! I spent a lot of time there, I just couldn't resist it!

Friendly Midrange Place in the City Center

by gdilieto about Centro Hotel Cartagena

Comfortable and friendly midrange hotel in the heart of the historical city center close to all sights and nightlife spots. Rooms are basically furnished but comfortable enough and all equipped with A/C, fan and fridge with water (the basic to survive in Cartagena hot and humid climate). Bathroom very small with a decent hot shower. A decent continental breakfast is included in the rate. It is a small hotel with 16 rooms only, the staff is very hospitable and helpful but speaks little to no English thus speaking some Spanish will make your life easier. My Spanish is poor yet was enough for communicating.

All in all, a good midrange (three-star) place right in the middle of the action. If you are planning to spend most of your time visiting the Historical City Center do not underestimate the advantage of having your hotel room right in the center: Cartagena is hot and humid and you are likely going to drop by your room few times a day for resting, showering and changing-out your clothing.

Centro Hotel met my expectations of a comfortable base for exploring Cartagena and I would consider returning here if back in town.

Cartagena : Columbia

by JaydenP

"Cartagena"

Cartagena is on the north coast of Columbia, and is classed as the Carribean. The beach was a busy place and was bustling with the usual local sales men and women -offering fruits, bracelets, t-shirts, beers etc..
The temperature was around 35 degrees celsius wich was boiling compared to the cold of Leeds! Full body massages are available for 10,000 pesos (£2.00) - too good to refuse! A bottle of beer costs about 50p. The sea was nice but i didnt venture too far out as there is a vast array of aquatic life which i didnt trust!!!!

"Accomodation"

For a cost of about 50,000 pesos a night we rented an apartment -which also came with a maid who cooked and cleaned!!!! we were right on the beach and in the middle of the shops and commercial district. The rooms were clean - except the odd cockroach!! There are plenty of other hotels along the beach, even a Hilton if you fancy it. The apartment was had air con and we were told by our Columbian friends that this was pretty much the minimum standard for all of the hotels along Cartagena strip.Unfortunately i cannot remember the name or address of the hotel!

"Cartagena Nightlife"

There are plenty of clubs in and around Cartagena, thes a mix of Spanish/Columbian music, Reggeaton and some House music. Drinks are cheap compared to home so we were drinking bucketloads. Another
