Great deal for the money
I stayed at a condo owned by gringo here in the US who has been nothing but a great asset to my trip and a truly honest businessman with the goal of keeping me happy. The condo I stayed at was on the 12th floor which overlooked both the neighborhood and the beach. Modern amenities, A/C in the bedroom and a fan in the living room made for a very comfortable stay. I wanted to avoid the hotel scene and all the hidden expenditures that go with it, and this place exceeded all that I wanted. It is not the Cartagena Hilton, but you will not be paying Hilton prices either. Security was excellent. All visitors had to register at a front counter staffed 24 hours and they would call you on the internal phone system to ask if your visitor was to be granted access to your condo. The condo sits adjacent to the beach and right next door is a market where you can purchase supplies for the kitchen which is fully equipped albeit oddly positioned and reminded of a galley of submarine at some points (but it was quirks like this that gave this place style and character). The living room and the balcony were very comfortable and had a modern artsy feel to them, and since I was fortunate enough to make a few great friends while I was there, it turned out to be a perfect setting for the evening entertainment. For 1 or 2 people, this place is a wonderful alternative to get away from feeling like a tourist and feeling more like you are a resident.
