Stay Away From This One

Bad (2.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on February 28, 2014

A person can do better than this hotel. Although, not the worst-it isn't worth the money. The staff were accommodating but, the hotel lacked basic amenities like climate control. I tried to open the window and it was about 4 inches wide. There was no view but, just another building. The water heater was small-so, you have to take a fast shower. The room was small and light on outdated furnishings. The room and bathroom were clean however. The bathroom had a high floor under the sink and I kept hitting my toes.
The breakfast was the highlight-I had an omelette, bread, juice, coffee, etc. Not bad but, not enough to for this place to earn the never stay HERE award.
The only other plus is that it is close to the Zona Rosa and the Hard Rock cafe.

Pros: Breakfast, location.

Cons: Almost everything else.

Unique Quality: Close to Zona Rosa Hard Rock

Directions: Zona Rosa South

Great location and friendly staff

Great (4.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on November 30, 2007

The Hotel Saint Simon is located in the heart of Zona Rosa and the staff here was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was included in the price of the room (80 USD per night for a single room) and there are two computers with internet access for hotel guests. While Zona Rosa isn't really the "real" Bogota, it does provide a safe place to stay and a neighborhood that you can actually walk around in at night in relative safety. There are plenty of good restaurant options within walking distance and cabs are very cheap and easy to get (but always have the hotel or restaurant call one for you for safety).

The hotel has just enough character to make it interesting and the rooms were clean and modern with plenty of hot water and comfortable beds.
