I arrived at the tail end of a long weekend and the reception area was packed with multiple check-ins. After some minor confusion was settled, we were able to get into our room. Be warned, there is NO WIFI in the room. Internet connectivity is limited to the reception area and is not included in the price of the all-inclusive package. The restaurants are adequate, nothing to write home about. I did not notice any insects in our rooms. The adult pool is separate from the children's pool area. The adult pool area did not have a pool bar. The beach area is 'swim at your own risk' with only a security guard on duty and life saving devices available. Water activities (paddle boats, row boats, banana boat) are available at an additional cost.
They earn points in the shows they present throughout the day. Their staff is family friendly.
If you decide to stay, the must try is the Panasiatico restaurant, conveniently located between the Adult and Children's pool. Dinner is served in a style similar to a Japanese hibachi show.
Directions: If you are traveling towards Santa Marta from Cienaga and points south, the entrance is on the opposite side of the road. You may need to hit a turnaround.
I was not impressed with the Decameron Galeon. The grounds are beautiful and they have nice pools. However the beach was not very good and it was near impossible to get any decent service from the staff. I bought a package that included tours and airport transfers but basically had to hound the staff in order to get any of these services provided
