Hotel Arena Blanca: Nice place to stay

by joshhyman

This is a 2 - 3 start all inclusive hotel. The rooms are nice but small and everything in the room worked perfectly. They have a nice eatting area with very well prepared food. There are waiters all around to fill your glass with tea or water. The staff was very friendly. The best part of the staff are the people who dance in the show. They were energetic and fun to be with. The hotel is about 2 long blocks from the public beach. The water on San Andres might be the very best on the earth. So clear, so blue, so warm. Over all the hotel was fine. It's nothing like staying in a four seasons but on this island there is very little choice.

I think the best thing about this hotel was the staff. The view was amazing but the people who work there made us feel so comfortable and happy. It is a must to see the live show every night.

Decameron San Luis: Decameron San Luis

by oyesabesque

A great Stay, look in the description... i wrote a lot about it.
Reserve your dinner as soon as you can if you want to eat in the different restaurants of all of the decameron hotels. By staying in one of decameron, you can eat in any of them

The beach has a great coral barrier, its very cosy, and in the door

Hotel Arena Blanca: Great Dance Show at night

by joshhyman

This is an all - inclusive hotel. I never thought I would stay at one before because I love to explore for restaurants but I am older now (36) with a wife and two kids (9 & 7) so I bit the bullet and stayed here. I was so surprised at how much I enjoyed it. The rooms were nice and comfortable. The airco worked perfectly, the TV had plenty of channels and the bathroom was clean and the shower worked perfectly. The room we had was with two beds. The beds were very hard which is great for your back. The room cleaning service was perfect. The view was amazing. The restaurant was so nice. It is buffet style with great waiters and waitresses to serve drinks. The food was tasty and had alot of local flavors. The best part of the stay was the dance show at night. Everynight they have a show from 8:30pm to about 10pm. The dancers work at the hotel and are all very professional and well trained. I really loved the show. It was funny and exciting. The MC was a real nice guy who made us laugh alot. The show was as good as any you can find in Las Vegas.

The pool was really nice but a bit small. The bar was really nice but had only one bartender and in an all inclusive resort thats not good as so many people want thier included drinks. The elevators were fast and clean. The restaurant was large and nice. The food was really good. The room was super nice. The people who work there are all very professional and very friendly. I was surprised at first that the beach was two blocks away but it wasnt that bad of a walk at all.

Residencial Restrepo: Backpacker's option

by rafgys

It's by far one of the cheapest options in the whole island... you can get a room with private bathroom for almost nothing.

As you may imagine... nothing is perfect. You are gonna stay in a very Caribbean place... which means, you get a "glassed" window if you are lucky. The water coming out of the shower is almost as salty as in the beach, although that happens all over the island. You may see some small lizards in the first days of your stay... in San Andres those are blue with a thin yellow stripe along their back: beautiful.

The place is right behind the airport... and when I say right behind it, I mean just feet away from the planes. So you gotta be prepared to wake up every morning with a plane landing or leaving. It's like an earthquake, but no... it's just a plane! The good thing is there are no more than four or five daily flight to San Andres... you only suffer the one in the morning.

Another thing... it's about fifteen blocks from where all the bars are... be prepared for a nice walk every day, or rent a bike.

Unique? Nah... the only good thing is to stay in the island the way the locals live.

Hill Side View: The best panorama view in San Andres

by jorgejuansanchez

There is a bar upstairs where you can drink a beer and enjoy the fantastic panorama view dominating both sides of the island of San Andres.

In front of the hotel there is a protestant church, the first erected in San Andres.

El Acuario: Decameron

by panderita

Its one of the first choices, if not the first for senior spring breaks from all the schools in the country so its packed with young people.
It has an open bar services and great buffets.

Very laid back stay - rooms a bit basic. fridge was handy. Service almost non existent

Small pool - not many sunbeds.
Nice and close to coral shoreline.

Posada del Mar: The Place I Stayed At

by canuckmike

Nice rooms with balconies and hammocks. There is quaint little restaurant and a grocery store underneath the hotel. It is about a 3 minute walk from a small hidden beach.

Hotel Portobelo: Good and Cheap

by colombiaalive

A small hotel with a good location, right in front of the beach and only two blocks from the commercial heart of San Andres.
