Hotel Silberstein: Room + Pool + Restaurant
Some of the divers who would be on our dive boat were booked at this hotel instead of the Solymar, so although I didn't stay there, I got a good look at the place. It's somewhat more expensive than the Solymar, but the facilities are a little more upscale.
This is a pleasant looking hotel both from the street and inside the grounds. When you step in off the street you are in the open-air bar/restaurant part. Passing behind this public area you come to the swimming pool, indoor dining room and the guest wing. It is on the opposite side of the road from the bay.
The photo was taken from the door of the dining room.
This hotel has the convenience of an on-site restaurant.

Hotel Solymar: On the waterfront, in the company of wildlife
This is a very simple place with just a few rooms accommodating from two to four or five people. Some of the rooms have ocean views, and all have private bathrooms.
The hotel is located on the shoreline road between the pier (a ten-minute walk) and the Charles Darwin research station (a five-minute walk). Restaurants and shops can be found along the road in either direction.
The sundeck in front of the block of rooms is a great place to sit and get your first impressions of Galapagos wildlife. Marine iguanas bask on the concrete, brown pelicans perch on the pilings, and a great blue heron patrols the entire patio area.
The boatramp in the photo lies between the two decks of the hotel. One deck is visible in the background, and I was standing three steps in front of the door to my room on the other deck when I took the picture.

Ninfas Hotel: Puerto Ayora, Santa Cruz Island
Very convenient location, right by the marina.
Just avoid room 117...for some reason the acoustics allowed me to hear the people from the room above ours snoring so loud, I thought they were in our room!

The Resting Cloud: High Seas Adventure
While we liked the Resting Cloud and its crew and were extremely happy to be on a small sailing cruiser, rather than a large tourist cruise, we had an unplanned experience (hopefully never to be repeated). Our boat was cruising under motor power one night and ran out of gas. There was a storm underway and it was too late to raise the sails. After being tossed around, with little control, in the seas for many hours, we were towed to the nearest island by ther Ecuadorian navy.
With only 8 cabins, this was a more peaceful way to experience the Galapagos, for sure! The food was also fresh, with plenty of fish and local produce.

There is 2 types of accomodation in Galapagos, you might stay in a boat or inland.
If you stay in a boat, the tour may varied from 3-4 or 7 days, and the cost from 350 $ to 1200$ Us dollars.
To galapagos with Tame everyday trip, from Quito it is around 380$, from Guayaquil around 360$ ENTRANCE to National Park is
Private 5-seater plane: USD 65 one way/USD 130 round-trip; Monday through Saturday (30 minutes each way). Tickets can be purchased at the EMETEBE office near the port supermarket. Open: 7:15 am - 10:45 am and 2:00 - 6:00 pm. Phone: 05-526177
INGALA (the national boat company) travels between the Santa Cruz and Isabella twice a month. Check at the INGALA office located near the supermarket and post office for scheduled departures (their schedule seems to constantly change).
The difference between staying in a boat and the island. Well the boat you get to see much more. See lots of people think that the island are close to each other, well no. So if you stay in the island you will be limited to so much.

SOL Y MAR HOTEL: SOL Y MAR HOTEL
25 $ doble (variaciones segun temporada)

Most of your accomodation will be on board if you do a cruise.
However I stayed at the Hotel Elizabeth in Puerto Ayora for a few nights. It's basic, clean and central.
USD6.00 for a single, USD8.00 for a view of the sea.

The 'Sullivan' was superb. A decent size yacht with adequate sized cabins (but don't take too much luggage!), attached small bathroom with hot water, comfortable lounge area with TV, plenty of deck space for sunbathing, reading or watching the islands pass by. Bed linen changed daily. Towels provided. Tea and coffee are available all day, as was drinking water.

Delfin II was my choosen program and fit my wants of sleeping on the island and having several days to cruise. Next time I'll plan to explore some of the farther out islands so I will choose a different style of program. Oh, be sure to take a flashlight with plenty of good batteries.
One, or even two or three, may not stay for one night. Land sleeping packages and boat only packages are not available for one night stays. Price can include other countries, or can just be for the flight from U.S.A. to Ecuador, to and from landing strip on Baltra Island, and your choosen style for exploring the islands.
During my trip the weather was uniquely cold, and the hotel was not set up for this condition. This hotel was off by itself and with area around it was uncrowded for careful walking and quietness. The town was seperated by water and I had not known this when I made my plans and was thus disappointed when it was clear that there would be no way to stroll the streets of town in the evenings. Well, that was an early lesson in checking out more details.
