Hacienda Tigua Chimbacucho: Hospitable place
The family that runs this place is very hospitable and are truly concerned about you as a guest in their home, which is also an active dairy farm. They serve a nice dinner, family-style, so all the guest come and eat together, which was a great way to get to know some other interesting travelers (we met two brothers from Montreal and some folks from England). I had to excuse myself during dinner, because I was sick, but if you're going to be sick, it's nice to be somewhere where they'll make you some tea and where the beds are reasonably comfortable and the water is hot and the plumbing works well.
Walking down the path from the hacienda, we found a small church and a fenced in pen where the bulls were kept that you see in the other tips on this page. The surrounding paramo landscape is very peaceful and beautiful.
